Perform the various duties required to oversee the development, management, and implementation of the facility EHS program. Focus is to build a strong safety culture at the site and to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies. Responsible for Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, Legal Regulations.
Primary Role Responsibilities
Perform full range of health and safety duties for the site.
Drive ongoing compliance efforts, improvement plans, and continuous improvement strategies.
Develop and drive injury reduction initiatives.
Play a key role in leading safety performance across the plant.
Maintain all monthly safety and health inspections and ensure that all open items are addressed.
Develop topics and maintain weekly Safety Start-up and ensure that any issues are addressed.
Responsible for updates of site ESH Programs and Policies.
Investigate accidents, determine root causes, and recommend changes in procedures, practices, and methods to prevent recurrence.
Incident/accident investigation and trend analysis.
Coordinate and conduct safety training.
Oversee MSDS Program.
Conduct meetings with the Emergency Response Team and oversee drills and training.
Coordinate and conduct Job Hazard Assessments.
Facilitate various in-house safety and ergonomics committees.
Perform Security Assessments and implement corrective action on-going.
Conduct Industrial Hygiene exposure assessments, conduct sampling, and communicate monitoring results.
Direct safety/environmental compliance with Regulatory agencies.
Coordinates development, implementation and documentation of corrective actions including new/revised policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining compliance with site air permits, required monitoring data and all related regulatory reporting.
Responsible for Velocity Data entry, Review and Training.
Complete environmental reports for facility and responsible for permit maintenance and acquisition as necessary for all media types (air, water, waste, waste water, etc.) including reports for EPA/DNR, NPDES, Tier II and EPCRA Form R.
Responsible for environmental inspection programs for the operation including but not limited to good environmental management practices, hazardous waste areas, SWPPP & SPCC, etc.
Minimal Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene / Safety, Environmental Management / Engineering, Safety Engineering or related field
A minimum of 2 - 4 years related experience in health and safety; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with environmental management in a manufacturing environment and facility
Knowledge of manufacturing safety elements
Superior knowledge of root cause analysis
Experience with OSHA Regulation Compliance and Interpretation
Industrial Hygiene experience
Experience in development and training for Lock/Out Tag Out, Confine Space, Hazardous Materials, MSDS Administration
