JBT Airport Services is an industry leading, dedicated provider of Maintenance Services to Airports and Airlines throughout North America. Our maintenance services cover the full range of service from 24 hour, 7 day per week on-site service and emergency call out, to periodic maintenance of equipment based on technical visits quarterly, semi-annually, and/or annually with supplementary emergency support and call out as needed.

This position is located at the Ontario Int'l Airport in Ontario, California.

The primary function of this position is to provide fulltime environmental support to the site and ensure all site practices are in compliance with California State and Federal regulatory requirements, as well as company specific requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its permitting applications as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Enforcement of SWPPP best practices

  • Hazardous Waste Management and training

  • Hazard Communication/GHS training/SDS management

  • SCAQMD rule 109 tracking responsibilities VOC minimization

  • EPA refrigerant program and tracking requirements

  • Refrigerant specific requirements- industrial process refrigeration system

  • SPCC program and training requirements

  • EPA waste management best practices

  • EPA- section 609 vehicle regrigerant specific tracking

  • SCAQMD- Minimizing air pllutant in maintenance activities

  • FDA backflow certifications a plus

  • Conducts safety and environmental audits and inspect sites/facilities within area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws.Keeps abreast of industry and regulatory changes, certifications and trends, proactively respond as appropriate.



  • 2-4 year college degree is highly perferred (EHS discipline preferred)

  • General knowledge of California Pollution Contral Agency regulations

  • California Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Program (EPCRA)

  • Familiarity with environmental licenses, permits and reporting

  • Demonstrated background in calOSHA rules and regulations.

  • PC skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Must have a valid Drivers License, and the ability to pass an FAA Security Background Check

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills within a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of ISO/OHSAS Managment systems a plus

  • 3+ Years of experience in an Environmental role

We are currently seeking a Regional Safety, Health, & Environmental Manager to be located in Ontario, CA or Cabazon, CA and report to the National Safety, Health & Environmental Director. The position ensures that all levels of management and employees comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies. Additionally, this position leads the Region to continuously progress and move from Compliance to Commitment within the function. The role requires strong ability to work cross functionally and to lead by influence. In addition, this role will support the organization from an environmental perspective and be the subject matter expert on all environmental topics nationally. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: LEADERSHIP: * Maintain a proactive Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) culture by providing SH&E leadership and expertise for the region. The West region is comprised of three retail factories in California, one factory in Denver, CO, one factory in Phoenix and one in Hope, British Columbia along with three large format factories in California and Phoenix as well as two transportation groups both in California. * Demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and SH&E data analysis. * Capitalize on opportunities to build the knowledge and capabilities of leaders and employees regarding workers' compensation, safety, health, and environmental practices. * Provide leadership and guidance to factory and warehouse level SH&E professionals. Must communicate SH&E team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to SH&E teams to ensure they are executing to the core competencies of a Nestlé Waters SH&E professional. * Demonstrate the ability to judge and assess SH&E talent and select appropriate bench strength to current and future business needs. * Be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing to the region and nationally. * Spend time at locations and seek input from SH&E teams (including Pillar members), employees and leaders on SH&E program improvement opportunities. * Interact with employees in all functions and levels, subcontractors, outside vendors and other non-Nestlé contacts to drive SH&E initiatives and culture. * Ensure employees maintain a high awareness of safety, health, and environmental initiatives. * Ensure the development and maintenance of site-specific manuals, records of inspection, and incidents relating to SH&E issues. COMPLIANCE : * Regularly conducts assessments and collaborates with facility and regional leadership to identify safety, health, and environmental areas of risk to implement proactive strategy to drive sustainable results and improvement. * Assure company safety, health, and environmental programs are fully implemented and functional in meeting compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, guidelines and Nestlé/Nestlé Waters key performance indicators (KPIs). * Measure and report to plant and corporate leadership on site and regional level metrics related to program compliance and completion. * Maintain knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in area of regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local legislation regarding NFPA/OSHA/EPA/DOT other applicable regulations. * Support the team Nationally on all environmental & sustainability projects and opportunities * Responsible for the coordination and leadership of environmental programs and policies at the corporate level. * Special technical knowledge and skill in the environmental and compliance to cover states where we operate. * The primary objective of the role is to enhance the environmental aspects of Site operations common to all to be lead at the corporate level with support of peers. * Foster a culture where the environment is ingrained as a core value, achieving best in class performance in support of compliant, highly efficient, low cost operations via NCE. (i.e. create and sustain a solid loss analysis to be actioned Nationally) RESPONSIBILITIES SAFETY & HEALTH: * Ensure the implementation of continuous improvement programs and compliance with Safe Behavior Observation, Lock Tag Verify, Machine Guarding, and Powered Industrial Vehicle, and other Safety & Health programs. * Analyze SH&E Nestlé Internal Audit results in order to develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other locations. * Audit the workplace organization and behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and functional compliance scoring methods are accurate and consistent. * Review for effectiveness the deployed Safety & Health tools and revise to ensure continual improvement. * Measure the regions and sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies. For all deficiencies, assist with the development of a plan for the site to implement and correct deficiencies. * Analyze safety metrics and review incident reports to discover trends that justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest. * Develop a partnership with corporate functions and other regional field SH&E personnel to leverage global best practices into network standards. * Understand Industrial Hygiene requirements applicable to the operations and regulations associated with them RESPONSIBILITIES ENVIRONMENTAL: * Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports. Assist with the generation of environmental reports as requested by regulatory agencies. Provide oversight during the permit application process and development of agreements as required by regulatory agencies. * Collaborate with environmental consultants, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and other specialists, and experts in law and business to address potential environmental issues. * Provide guidance and direction to management for ensuring environmental compliance. Ensure sites within the region obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, licenses, and standard operating procedures related to environmental requirements as well as review and recommend improvements to existing environmental programs for compliance assurance. * Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability. * Pro-actively identify and solve potential environmental violations. Enforce both legal and Nestlé environmental requirements through routine on-site compliance validation checks. * Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs. * Manage waste streams of the region and maintain zero waste to landfill status at all locations. * Author environmental related articles, newsletters, and press releases. Develop environmental guidelines and practices for the region and field. Qualifications KEY QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE (not limited to): * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health or related field * Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred but not required * 10+ years of experience in SH&E with at least 5 years within a manufacturing or industrial setting * Consumer products, food or beverage industry experience preferred but not required * 2+ years of prior experience leading a team of people * Knowledge of federal, state, CAL-OSHA/OSHA/EPA regulations, safety equipment and proper handling of chemicals * Experience with implementation of Management System certification, VPP, ISO, OHSAS or equivalent * Knowledge and exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, and various problem solving methodologies * Ability to build and foster relationships both internally and externally with multiple levels of management * Experience leading, training, motivating, coaching and developing individuals and large teams * Experience with Change Management principles and leading and implementing change * Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Demonstrated success managing large projects and initiatives, documenting procedures and building and executing safety and/or environmental programs * Demonstrated success in driving consistent improvement in leading indicators for each safety and health as well as environmental * Effective communication, influencing, and coaching skills with individuals at all levels * Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills * Willingness and ability to provide 24X7 on call support for emergencies * Willingness to travel 50% across West region Nestlé Waters North America is the nation's leading bottled water company.
