JBT Airport Services is an industry leading, dedicated provider of Maintenance Services to Airports and Airlines throughout North America. Our maintenance services cover the full range of service from 24 hour, 7 day per week on-site service and emergency call out, to periodic maintenance of equipment based on technical visits quarterly, semi-annually, and/or annually with supplementary emergency support and call out as needed.

This position is located at the Ontario Int'l Airport in Ontario, California.

The primary function of this position is to provide fulltime environmental support to the site and ensure all site practices are in compliance with California State and Federal regulatory requirements, as well as company specific requirements. The position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its permitting applications as needed.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Enforcement of SWPPP best practices

  • Hazardous Waste Management and training

  • Hazard Communication/GHS training/SDS management

  • SCAQMD rule 109 tracking responsibilities VOC minimization

  • EPA refrigerant program and tracking requirements

  • Refrigerant specific requirements- industrial process refrigeration system

  • SPCC program and training requirements

  • EPA waste management best practices

  • EPA- section 609 vehicle regrigerant specific tracking

  • SCAQMD- Minimizing air pllutant in maintenance activities

  • FDA backflow certifications a plus

  • Conducts safety and environmental audits and inspect sites/facilities within area of responsibility to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory laws.Keeps abreast of industry and regulatory changes, certifications and trends, proactively respond as appropriate.



  • 2-4 year college degree is highly perferred (EHS discipline preferred)

  • General knowledge of California Pollution Contral Agency regulations

  • California Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Program (EPCRA)

  • Familiarity with environmental licenses, permits and reporting

  • Demonstrated background in calOSHA rules and regulations.

  • PC skills with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Must have a valid Drivers License, and the ability to pass an FAA Security Background Check

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills within a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge of ISO/OHSAS Managment systems a plus

  • 3+ Years of experience in an Environmental role

More information can be found at The Challenge * To support the development of site SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) policy with annual and long-term plans in compliance with corporate requirements and relevant laws and regulations. * To support monitoring of SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security plans of individual departments as defined by DSM's & site policy and plans. * To define, implement, & execute the site SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security plan. * To support the site as a safety & security expert. * To work interdepartmentally with management team to ensure safe work environment for all employees The Position * Assist in developing site approach to managing combustible dust hazards, as they pertain to product handling, through technical guidance development, SOP development, field study, and training. * Work closely with Facility Trainer to develop, organize, and conduct SHE & Security related training programs, including confined space, work permit, incident investigation, root cause, LOTOTO, KSB's etc. * Lead site process analysis studies and track site-wide progress on recommendations tracking. Serve as site owner for Generic Risk Assessment (GRA). * Conduct JSAs as required on various process equipment and tasks to quantify risk and recommend risk reduction measures to intended audience (i.e. production, maintenance, etc). * Support individual departments in the preparation and execution of their SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security plans – focusing on process safety. * Coordinate with Site Manager & HR department to ensure to ensure timely and appropriate medical care is provided and a return to work plan is developed. * Advise individual departments on wide-ranging scope of SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security issues. * Audit individual departments for compliance with DSM SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security requirements and progress of implementation of their SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) & Security plans. * Ability to either take the lead or participate in incident investigations and the judgment to make the correct decision based on each situation. Lead participants through site Root Cause Failure Analysis methodology to arrive at sound causes and solutions to incidents. * Manage site safety metric reporting to satisfy internal requirements and regulatory compliance.
