ERM is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our global consulting firm throughout our Midwest (Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Holland, Milwaukee, Rolling Meadows, Chicago, St. Louis, and Overland Park) region. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers on a variety of projects, potentially in the areas of EHS compliance, air quality, site investigation & remediation, environmental impact assessment, and environmental due diligence. Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance, air quality management, site investigation and remediation, environmental impact assessments, due diligence transaction, and sustainability-related projects.
Prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, NPDES, and wastewater programs.
Perform environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Conduct air quality analyses, prepare emission inventory reports, quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts, and evaluate air pollution control technologies.
Perform Phase I environmental site assessments to support property transfer transactions.
Conduct field work, including sampling, ecological field studies, drilling, well installation, remedial pilot tests, construction oversight, and remedial system operation and maintenance.
Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, including on-site assistance, as needed.
Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation.
Perform project tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to deliver exceptional client value on projects.
BS in chemical, civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related science degree. Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Recent graduate to 5 years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships.
Strong commitment to safety.
Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
HAZWOPER and EIT certifications a plus.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Local candidates preferred.
