Tetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking 2 full-time Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientists for our San Diego, CA office.

The selected candidate's responsibilities will include working with a multidisciplinary team on a variety of environmental and geophysical projects. Day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to: conducting environmental site assessments and geophysical surveys; subcontractor management; technical report and planning document writing; collection of soil, sediment, soil gas, surface water, and groundwater samples; site inspections; remedial investigations; GIS support; and geophysical and laboratory analytical data evaluation.

The ideal candidate will have 0 - 2 years of related experience in Geophysics/Geology/Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, and/or Environmental Science and should have the following:

  • Familiarity with geophysical methods and/or basic environmental sampling protocols, and environmental site assessment requirements

  • Strong technical writing abilities

  • BS degree in geophysics, geology, hydrogeology, engineering, or similar

  • Current OSHA 40-hour certification is a plus

  • Remote pilots license is a plus

  • Exceptional computer skills

In addition you will have/be:

  • Strong organizational/communication skills

  • Ambitious, hard working, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude

  • Ability to work well within a team environment

  • Self-starter

The work environment includes approximately 30-50% field work. Travel is required. Fieldwork and travel may be more or less at times. You must be able to walk several miles per day, with instrumentation, collecting geophysical data and able to hike to access sites for consecutive days. You need to be able to exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work.

This position requires you to drive on a regular basis and will require passing a motor vehicle record (MVR) background check. It also requires other background checks.
