The Rome Mill is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support our linerboard mill. We are looking for a committed individual that has an interest and background in Environmental Engineering and Stewardship in a manufacturing environment.
This position reports to the Environmental Manager and has supervisory responsibility for supporting, developing and administering the facility Environmental processes, programs, leadership as well as assuring our compliance with Local, State and Federal requirements and Laws, and development and delivery of related training programs as they relate to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage the Air Compliance Program for the Rome Mill.
Coordinate permitting requirements as dictated by path that develops as a result of expansion/modification projects.
Interact with and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies including all Georgia EPD and EPA Region 4.
Support the NPDES Compliance Program for the Rome Mill.
Support the Solid Waste/Hazardous Waste Compliance Program for the Rome Mill.
Participate in internal Global Manufacturing System (GMS) assessments..
Manage the emissions testing programs for environmental compliance.
Manage the continuous emissions monitor/continuous opacity monitor (CEMS/COMS) program for facility
Serve on community and environmental committees as required.
Lead cross-department teams of employees by utilizing appropriate and effective performance management systems and techniques.
Other duties as assigned
B.S. Degree in Environmental Science or Chemical engineering or related technical field.
Five years experience in the area of environmental compliance preferable in the pulp and paper industry and the state of Georgia.
