Ingredion is hiring an Environmental Engineer to support, build and implement environmental programs for operation of the Argo Plant to maintain compliance with air, water, solid and hazardous waste and other government regulations along with Ingredion policies and standards, while supporting the achievement of environmental compliance and cost goals. Anticipated time allocation is approximately 75% environmental and 25% sewer losses.
As an Environmental Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Implementing, crafting and maintaining environmental programs, policies and procedures at the plant to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations, corporate policies and guidelines. Including coordinating and ensuring that required environmental reporting content and timeframes are met and that information provided is accurate and clearly reflects the compliance status of the facility.
Preparing and collaborating with plant personnel to complete routine and non-routine EPA reports including MWRD wastewater reports.
Auditing required environmental records to ensure accuracy of data and efficiency of control equipment so the plant is prepared for Agency compliance inspections and self-certifications.
Auditing SAP control equipment preventive maintenance work orders to ensure they are being completed in a timely manner.
Assisting during regulatory agency inspections.
Investigating daily sewer losses and working with unit personnel to identify, correct, and minimize sewer costs. Working with units yield loss representatives to find root causes and implement effective corrective actions to address excess emissions.
Become a site expert in sewer loss identification, communication and mitigation.
Working with outside contractors on a host of environmental issues.
Leading and assisting in initiatives to meet company's sustainability goals. Spearheading plant and community events.
Finding environmentally responsible alternatives to disposal including reduce, reuse, recycle and landfill avoidance options in order to lower plant costs.
Developing and presenting technical materials for employee training and development.
Continuously develop knowledge by participating in local organizations to keep abreast of key environment regulations, attending in company sponsored conferences, and participating in work groups that address water and wastewater challenges to Ingredion
The Environmental Engineer position is well-suited for you if you have:

Knowledge of Excel so that you may manage information for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualified candidates will have:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a Science related field
Knowledge of Federal and State environmental laws and practices.
3 to 7 years' experience in a manufacturing setting implementing and/or creating environmental programs.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other software programs, including government platforms such as eGGRT, EIA and CDX.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity in a union environment.
