Job Summary

The Environment Business Line at AECOM Technical Services is seeking an environmental engineer, geologist or related discipline to join our Oshkosh, WI office as project staff leading to project management. Responsibilities will involve supporting projects of various size and scope in field and office setting in contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, environmental permitting, and environmental due diligence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical report preparation, project management support and work towards project manager role.

  • Oversee and work with subcontractors, enforce safety requirements, and document observations.

  • AECOM will provide 40hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

  • Travel may be required, potentially including out-of-state short-term overnight stays.

  • Complete assigned field tasks safely, such as soil logging, monitoring well installation, media sampling, testing, contractor oversight, and water level/groundwater gradient surveys.

  • Must be able to work outdoors year-round.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in contaminant investigations, remediation, hydrogeology, and/or environmental sampling.

  • B.S. in environmental engineering, geology or related scientific discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant experience plus a masters degree

  • Strong communication skills, the ability to write, and the ability convey thoughts and ideas clearly.

  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions, and the confidence to ask questions to grasp objectives.

  • Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work proficiently with MS Office products and organize data clearly.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to balance work schedule.

  • Experience in one or more the following areas is preferred:

  • Knowledge of environmental data collection, investigation, and data entry skills

  • Knowledge of Upper-Midwest geology and/or environmental chemistry

  • Proficiency in using pumps, field instruments, and mechanical skills are beneficial

  • Knowledge of soil and groundwater remedial techniques

  • Experience acquiring and manipulating spatial data and knowledge of GIS data and collection. GIS coursework preferred.

Provide support for the bank's various end user computing technologies while ensuring system availability and stability. Implement server and workstation systems, processes, and new technologies as approved. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. * Act as project manager and/or provide expert consultation on complex projects, being considered a top-level subject matter expert on technologies, who relies on experience and expert judgment to accomplish project goals. * Administers EUC platforms at all bank locations (including production applications, virtualization, builds, high availability, Disaster Recovery, security administration, patch management, alert notifications, operational support and backup/recovery). * Test and implement software update requests across all business line systems, to ensure functionality is maintained and/or improved. * Proactive research on new features and capabilities of existing and/or potential technologies for use in delivering end user capabilities. * Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures which may include: system diagrams, system overviews, knowledgebase entries, service level agreements, maintenance windows, and support contact information. * Coordinate, collaborate and communicate frequently with IT 3rd party service providers. * Perform reporting and project management duties in accordance of ABC's Project Management methodology and Change Control standards, which includes: time reporting, resource planning, requests for change, daily operation call updates, and other project management deliverables.
