Environmental Engineer

Job Description:

• Seeking an environmental engineer to join our team in Florida. This person will the engineering, design, permitting, and construction oversite for both municipal and private developer owned environmental projects. They will evaluate site assessment data, engineer solutions, and design plans for remediation.

• This person can work in any office in Florida (Tampa, Orlando, West Palm, Coral Springs, Miami)

• The first project this person will likely support is a Golf Course Residential Redevelopment, including Environmental Site Assessments and developing a soil management/remediation plan.

Duties include:

• Collect samples from hazardous and non-hazardous sites, including soil, air, surface water, groundwater, and landfill gas.

• Oversee drilling activities involving, monitoring and well installation, borehole logging, well development, and sampling.

• Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations to ensure compliance with construction documents.

• Complete quality control reviews on all work product (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients as directed.

• Coordinate with CAD drafters for design plans/figures or uses AutoCAD for basic design plans/ figures.

• Prepare permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation as requested.

• Prepare calculations for reports and in support of design documents as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering or similar engineering degree.

• 2-5 years of experience working for an environmental consulting firm.

• Experience with Miami Dade DERM is a plus.

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and on track to receive PE License is a must.

• Valid Drivers License with a driving record in good standing required.

Work Environment:

• The role involves mostly engineering and design tasks performed in the office. Some periodic travel may be required for projects outside the local market, which could include day trips or potentially an overnight stay. Currently, the position includes working from home 2 days per week, but candidates should be open to transitioning to full-time office work if required.
