At Freeman you will work in interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive, branded experiences in digital and physical environments. You will provide positive contribution to studio and office culture. As an Environmental Designer, you will contribute to the spatial component of the project. You will be passionate about design across all mediums with a sound understanding of current trends and technologies. You will actively participate in design thinking methodology and support visual communication of environmental concepts. Work with designers of different backgrounds to create holistic, branded experiences that integrate both physical and digital environments.

  • Supports up to 5 team members.

  • Executes low complexity projects that are clearly understandable to all levels of stakeholders.

  • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of design.

  • Works under limited supervision but is expected to perform varied work that may be somewhat difficult.

  • Performs transactionally based work that yypically involves collaboration with other team members.

  • Under the guidance of a their director, demonstrates concept sketching that involves quick ideations as well as finished presentation drawing skills clearly to all levels of stakeholders.

  • Creates stories or describes ideas clearly to all levels of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates communication, team collaboration and presentation skills clearly to all levels of stakeholders.

  • Promotes brand consistency with environmental concepts that support design objectives and creative concepts.

  • Creates design documentation, using illustration, sketching, and diagramming, 3D modeling and rendering, and CAD drawings to clearly communicate design intent appropriate to each phase of the design process within a project.

  • Works within specified deadlines. Edit and revises work based on stakeholder feedback.

  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary group of designers as well as stakeholders from other disciplines such as sales, marketing, operations and fabrication.

  • Participates in design planning for complex, multidisciplinary projects.

  • Actively participates in studio pin-ups, discovery sessions, and reviews.

  • Follows studio best practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required with experience demonstrated by a strong portfolio. Undergraduate or graduate degree preferred in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Exhibit Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design.

  • 2+ years of experience in a creative agency, corporate marketing environment, or architectural design firm in applicable areas of space design such as retail, hospitality, exhibit, and urban design.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch up, 3ds Max, PowerPoint, Word

  • Occasional travel may be required

  • Must provide a portfolio of work to be considered for the position

The Role: As the Senior Environmental Brand Designer, you must have stellar conceptual and hands-on environmental graphic design experience and show a portfolio of work that drive brand narratives in physical spaces. You'll work with a highly capable team of art directors, UX designers, design technologists, and engineers to invent and iterate on experiences that start and end with the customer.
