Provides recommendations to improve processes based on expertise, and leads team on resolution of complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends the standards that will be planned and plans regulatory schedule within prescribed timeframe

  • May begin contributing to industry knowledge at forums and sharing information with the business

  • Looks across corrective and preventative actions to identify systemic issues recommend broader preventive actions

  • Leads team members with the development of content and types of reports to be generated

  • Also provides guidance on actions to be taken based on report results

  • Supports the development of regulatory compliance training and builds own knowledge of standards and how to use the system

  • Works with local, regional and global management to assess need for new training or re-training efforts

  • Leads on responses for complex requests or sensitive issues with high risk

  • Provides authoritative expertise in the team's specialty

  • Leads IBX and cross-functional teams on assigned projects balancing business need/knowledge with standards requirements

  • Clearly sees potential risks for non-compliance and leads mitigation/response efforts with external and internal groups

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience

  • Bachelors

Preferred qualifications: * CPA/CA/CIA/JD/LLM or related experience. * People management experience, with ability to develop and inspire team members. * Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments in a deadline-driven environment, and accept ownership of the process. * Ability to take initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements. * Ability to work with and lead a wide variety of departments and cross-functional teams. * Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. * Identify and call attention to compliance and reputational risks through assurance audits, consulting, and solutions management activity. Improve the effectiveness of Alphabet's governance, risk management, and internal control activities. * Manage work requirements and budget to meet team initiatives. Communicate with and educate process owners effectively on the importance of controls, an effective control environment, and the role of the Audit team. * Review audit procedures, results, and recommendations. Perform risk assessments, prioritize initiatives, and determine resource needs. * Manage third-party services providers or external subject matter experts in planning and conducting audits. * Synthesize a compliance perspective for the Internal Audit department, effectively influence our approach to audits, and communicate a compliance view to stakeholders.
