About the job:
The Chemist 1 will be responsible for leading the analytical process for the Particulate Matter Monitoring Program described in 40 CFR 50, Appendix L . Particulate Matter is monitored to measure attainment with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
A day iin the life:
Maintain two Clean Rooms
Assist with Ambient sampling schedule
Manage filters from ordering supplies, sample preparation and analysis, to final step of archiving
Ensure compliance with all quality control requirements
Four (4) years full-time professional experience as an analytical chemist in an environmental field. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college. (Major in Chemistry required). SUBSTITUTION: Accredited graduate training in the above area may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Experience with gravimetric analysis is required.
