Join this esteemed firm as they are actively seeking talented and experienced Environmental Attorney with a transferable book of business to become an integral part of the team. This candidate will serve as an environmental attorney, drafting legal documents, managing, and advising clients on transactions in environmental law.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary author of legal memoranda, briefs, motions, discovery, contracts, regulatory agreements, and policy articles. Conduct research on environmental, land use, and administrative law, along with regulatory requirements at federal, state, and local levels. Advise on permitting, compliance, enforcement actions, and remedial requirements.
EXPERIENCE: 2-6 years of experience in federal and state environmental and land use law. Significant experience with CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, FIFRA, and state equivalents, including EHS compliance, transactional, and litigation support. Experience advising clients to minimize environmental liability risks in asset transfer, development, siting, operation, and permitting.
Represent clients in administrative or court hearings, manage motions, administrative record cases, and civil cases. Draft and respond to discovery requests, supervise document review and production, and take or defend fact and expert witness depositions. Admitted to the Michigan state bar or eligible for admission by the anticipated start date.
Portable book of business is preferred. Experience with solid and hazardous waste facilities is a plus. LI-TM1
