VIEW JOBS 3/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-21T00:00 This position you will have to be an RN JOB SUMMARY Responsible for performing restorative nursing procedures that maximize the resident's existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence, and maximize the negative effects of disability with an attitude of realistic optimism under the supervision of a restorative nurse. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist in developing restorative care plans for individual residents in coordination and conjunction with the resident assessment (MDS). * Review the restorative care requirements of each resident admitted to the facility and assist the attending physician in planning for the resident's care and/or treatment. * Assure that care plans indicate restorative care when therapy is ordered. * Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, including quarterly reviews. * Review request for restorative care and physician' orders. * Interview resident to determine type of treatment and schedule therapy. * Select rehabilitative and therapeutic activities and exercises based on medical and social history of residents. * Evaluate type of therapy most desirable after consulting with the physician and therapy personnel. * Participate in the development and implementation of resident assessments (MDS) and care plans, including quarterly reviews, as they relate to restorative care. * Complete assigned portions of the MDS as assigned. * Assure that the MDS is completed and signed in a timely manner to ensure that MDS can be transmitted in accordance with established policy. * Brief resident of procedures involved in restorative care and prepare necessary equipment. * Assure that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident's response to the care. * Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Valid IL State licensure as an RN * Minimum 1 years experience as a restorative care in a long term care environment * Strong management and organizational skills * Thorough understanding of regulatory process, MDS and care planning process * Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices * Must know documentation requirements and be driven by quality care standards * Ability to work with physicians and other healthcare professionals * Proficient in the use of personal computer PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle, or feel reach with hands and arms; talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision; peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
