Environmental Associate

Basic Function

Responsible for management of the Environmental computerized tracking, compliance & incident systems (Enablon) for the Environmental Department under general supervision. Prepares weekly and monthly reporting on incidents, compliance monitoring and reports, audit compliance, and waste tracking. Maintains all Environmental recordkeeping, electronic filing, team calendar, and compliance updates.

Job Duties

• Responsible for system oversight of compliance tasks and incident events.

• Compiles and tracks Environmental Bonus/KPI data for upper management.

• Organizes, retrieves, and disseminates technical and specialized data.

• Acts as document and record control coordinator for the assigned Department (hard and electronic files).

• Ensures all environmental data and correspondence is processed, truthful, accurate & timely and responsible for mailing or uploads via different systems (IMPACT, CDX, NMED, Enablon, Access, etc.).

• Interprets and evaluates environmental data from field investigations, subcontractors, and incident reports.

• Examines data for precision, accuracy, consistency, comparability, and correctness.

• Assures that all required environmental data is stored and retrieved by approved personnel only.

• Assists the field hands in complying with governmental regulations.

• Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee as determined by Manager.

Experience

A minimum of two years EHS-related work experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or related field is required.

Required Skills

Must be familiar with computer applications. Special training in RCRA, EPCRA, Waste water compliance, and DOT transportation is desired. Must be able to work as part of a team. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Intermediate reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 25% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and all temperatures including out-of-doors. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, computer proficiency, reaching, or grasping.
