Safety culture starts with you. As our EHS Leader, you set the tone for our growing and dynamic site. Your role is a combination of reducing risk, preventing injuries, and developing safety culture. You'll be part of a team environmentworking directly with site leadership, production associates, and support engineers. You are accountable for developing EHS strategy and operating rhythms. You are encouraged to be innovative and collaborative.
Set the site safety culture for proactive leadership of all EHS compliance issues
Ensure compliance of plant operations with regulatory requirements relating to air, solid waste, chemical, water, health and safety
Develop and maintain excellent local and state agency relationships
Prioritize EHS projects and investment based on risk
Implement and lead safety teams (chemical management, wastewater, environmental)
Participate and maintain OSHA VPP certification
Drive accountability with all functions and production associates to aggressively reduce operational upsets
BS or BA in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering or related field
5 year experience leading environmental and safety compliance programs in a manufacturing environment
Experience with environmental reporting and permitting (Tier II, RCRA Biennial, TURA, wastewater)
Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment.
Ability to prioritize and drive multiple programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of EHS and government regulations for Hazardous Waste, Wastewater, Air Permitting, Emergency Response, Chemical Management
Advanced degree (MS) and/or professional EHS certifications.
Experience with life sciences/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (clean rooms)
Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
Ability to analyze environmental data and comply into regulatory reports
Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones.
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and influencing skills
