What You Will Do

Our firm's Water Business Line, currently comprised of nearly 110 professionals, evaluates and optimizes the ability of all types and sizes of water, wastewater and stormwater facilities in order for our clients to successfully satisfy state and U.S. EPA regulations. Current technologies are utilized to achieve innovative and practical designs. Many of our projects have won state and national awards, and the volume of our water/wastewater work ranks us among the top 20 U.S. engineering firms by ENR. Additionally, our professionals serve a multitude of local, state, national, and international organizations as active community participants.

Our Water Business Line is currently looking for an Entry Level Engineer to work in our Valley Forge, PA office on various water, wastewater and stormwater projects involving planning and design.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater system assignments.

  • Prepare sketches and perform calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.

  • Research and evaluate processes and equipment.

  • Perform data analyses.

  • Collect field data.

  • Prepare technical reports.

  • Perform engineering economic analyses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • E.I.T. required

  • Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management

  • Must have the ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Must be willing to perform a wide range of entry level tasks

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. degree preferred

  • Previous related internship experience

What You Will Do Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced Mechanical (HVAC & Plumbing)Designer - Mid level to join our growing office in Marlton, NJ or Valley Forge, PA!! As a Designer at Gannett Fleming, you will be providing technical support on design aspects on assigned projects. Your duties will include, but may not be limited to, preliminary plumbing system and piping layout, fire protection zoning, document development using REVIT/BIM software. equipment research, preliminary pipe-sizing and calculations, QC, and overall support to project managers and senior engineers. Projects will include an array of building types serving both private and public sector clientele from market sectors including Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device Manufacturers, Food and Beverage, Transportation, Higher Education and Industrial Manufacturing. Minimum Qualifications * Working knowledge and design of Building Systems and Building Services Coordination, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) systems layout within REVIT. Integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Mechanical system design.(min. of 3 years) * Abilities related to the creation and editing of 3D content for specific application. * Effective interpersonal communications skills, a team oriented disposition and work style, where cooperative work sharing and peer to peer mentoring is a daily habit. * Personal inclination to learn and grow via internal training, external training and senior staff mentorship. * Demonstrates technical focus. Experience with code evaluation and system calculations * Able to support and enhance our department's collective ability to perform Client Site services including surveys and inspections. Preferred Qualifications * HVAC design skills including heating and cooling load and equipment performance (pumps, fans, compressors, boilers, chillers +) calculation routines and systems' documentation. * Plumbing design skills including water supply and drainage systems piping layouts. * Computer based analytical and programming skills required for Building Loads Simulation and Energy Modeling. * Independently create designs under broad direction from architect/engineer * Experience with optimizing Architectural data sets in REVIT for trouble free transfer into designer application software a plus. * Ability in automatic temperature control (ATC) design. Programming experience and instrumentation hardware knowledge a plus. * It is not a requirement that this candidate to possess a highly detailed knowledge the desired qualifications noted above or of specific building types, design approaches, equipment specifications, system capabilities and requirements.
