Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to work in Birmingham, Alabama .

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for traffic engineering projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.+ Will work with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SignCAD, Synchro, CENTRACS, and other applicable programs.+ Will work with microsimulation software such as VISSIM and Synchro or TransModeler to create traffic models and simulations.+ Research and analyze emerging technologies such as connected vehicles, automated vehicles, adaptive signal control technology, and communications networks.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.+ Ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) required within 6 months.+ Valid Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as of AutoCAD and MicroStation).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $55,029.50 - $75,665.57.
