A Structural Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Lexington, KY. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this role, you will conduct structural analyses of a wide variety of component designs utilizing advanced analytical and CAD tools. This includes turbo machinery components, mechanical systems & controls, and tooling & instrumentation for commercial and military jet engines.
Job Duties:
Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and post-process results
Provide technical recommendations for optimizing hardware designs and modeling approach
Review structural test plans and reports
Create and present substantiation documentation of analysis results
Support data acquisition/ reduction of hardware vibration environment measurements
Support hardware certification testing
Review non-conformance/ damage reports
Interface with customers, hardware suppliers, and participate in design reviews / trade studies
Evaluate stress and life of parts for vibration and fatigue loading
Required:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related field
Zero to three years' experience in the aerospace industry
Strong communication and presentation skills
High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Due to the nature of our work US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
Experience using FEA software like Ansys (Nastran / Patran preferred)
Preferred Skills:
Experience using Ansys Workbench or Classic
Experience evaluating stress and life of parts under vibration
Experience with gas turbine components
Aircraft engine controls and accessories experience
Experience performing fracture mechanics / damage tolerance analysis
NASGRO experience
Vibration testing experience
Aerospace experience
3D modeling experience
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary of $65,000 to $85,000 however Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
