The position also requires support on issues escalated from Operations resources. This candidate must have a working knowledge of Unix, Oracle Databases, and monitoring technologies such as Netcool, Splunk, and New Relic. * Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions * * Develop complex high level and low-level design solutions per requirements. * Model and map network and application topology via a federated model into the CMDB. * Configure and execute the capabilities inherent to a CMDB. * Complete complex development efforts that may include integrations with various internal and external applications. * Provide input and direction to the Offshore Development Team per designs, ensure standards are met and provide direction/coaching when necessary. * Direct technical resources outside of the Team on integration best practices. * Articulate technical solutions and Platform opportunities to Leaders in non-technical terms with clear rational in order to obtain support and alignment on approach. * Communicate system capabilities and limitations to Stakeholders. * Investigate and articulate how specific capabilities were built in order to provide direction on future enhancements. * At times, develop highly complex efforts or provide urgent development when Team bandwidth is limited. * Provide design and development estimates. * Provide input into 3 to 5 year roadmaps. * Work with Database Administrators on platform efficiencies, archiving data, and resolving operational issues. * Provide feedback on project artifacts to technical partners such as QA and Technical Analysts. * Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and work with delivery teams and leaders to invoke positive change. * Provide support to Team members by leveraging in-depth knowledge of system functionality and business logic to support the identification of defective/impacted code. * Provide 24x7 response to Critical Incidents such as degradations and outages when escalated by support resources in order to restore Service within SLA. Qualifications: *Minimum* * 8+ years of experience with ITSM System/Remedy development and solution designing. * 5+ years of experience with developing SOAP and Restful APIs, and experience with ANSI Standards is a plus. * 2+ years of experience working with a CMDB * Strong understanding of ITIL and experience developing within the Remedy Incident, Change, Asset, and Problem modules. * Experience implementing and developing Remedy features such as DSO and My IT. * Strong understanding of Remedy development best practices and experience conducting code reviews. * Experience working in a load balanced server environment. * General understanding of Middleware platforms, Oracle Databases, Unix Servers and Linux Operating Systems. * Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex application issues, integration failures, and ultimately pinpoint the root cause. * Possess excellent communication skills as well as be able to translate technical terminology into non-technical vernacular. * Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and regularly multi-tasking critical priorities to meet project deadlines. * Preferred* * ITIL V3 Foundations Certification * BMC Remedy Development and Support Certifications * BS/BA in related discipline (i.e., Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems) * Experience working in an Agile Development environment. * Experience working on a DevOps Team. * Experience with building System Automation. * Experience working with APM tools such as New Relic. * Experience working in Splunk for error identification and trending/reporting. * Experience with and comprehension of the urgency required for support of production systems Who We Are * About Cox Communications* Cox Communications is committed to creating meaningful moments of human connection through broadband applications and services.
