The Boeing Company's Ground Support Equipment teams in St. Louis and St. Charles, Missouri have immediate openings for entry level Software Engineers. These individuals will work in a team environment to develop test and repair capability for a wide variety of avionic and/or weapon systems. This organization develops and maintains a wide range Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis tools for numerous aircraft and weapons programs. Our equipment and software is used to support all phases of platform/weapon development: demonstration, production, field support, and depot repair.

Responsibilities include:

  • System & software requirements analysis and development,

  • System test requirements analysis and development interface design,

  • Test software development/coding

  • Hardware/software integration

  • System selloff/verification

  • Researching basic technologies for potential application to company business needs

  • Support of problem resolution associated with fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

The selected candidates should possess knowledge and/or experience with software development and simulation tools (e.g. editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulators, and/or configuration management tools), as well as various software languages (C++, C#, etc.). Although primarily a software assignment, this position does require the ability to interface with various hardware systems and equipment. Thus, familiarity with standard electronic laboratory test equipment and troubleshooting practices is desired, while a background in circuit design and schematic analysis is a plus. This position requires the ability to work within a fast paced team environment. Strong communication skills are essential as contact with Program Management, internal and external customer representatives, and other development teams and disciplines is required.

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • Will have a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry prior to starting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • Experience with C++, C#, Team Foundation Server (or similar software Configuration Management tools)

  • Experience and/or knowledge of software design concepts such as object orient programming, data structures, and design patterns

  • Experience with lab test equipment

  • Experience and/or knowledge of digital and microprocessor hardware design
