Entry-Level Purchasing Estimator

David Weekley Homes has opportunities for entry-level Estimators to join our Austin Purchasing team. This position is responsible for accurately measuring and estimating the materials used to build each home. Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain accurate plan estimates, analyze reports related to estimating activities, and track status of assigned projects.

• Manage all aspects of the bid coordination process, including blueprint validation, bid request preparation, research and cost comparison reporting.

• Maintain master job cost files and convert material lists and cost estimates to database.

• Coordinate the flow of information among suppliers, purchasing staff, builders & DWH computer systems.

• Complete quantity takeoffs for new plans, elevations, custom options and plan changes.

• Generate price pro-forma and other financial reporting for all communities.

• Provide generalized service support for internal customers.

Job Requirements

• College graduate with a degree in Business, Finance, Construction, or related field

• Solid mathematical and analytical skills

• Strong organization and communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and excel in a structured environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel preferred

• Experience with job cost accounting software is a plus
