As an Entry-Level Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assessing and diagnosing mental and emotional disorders, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing care for patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop personalized treatment plans for patients, including medication management, psychotherapy interventions, and supportive care
• Monitor patients' progress and responses to treatment, making necessary adjustments to medication regimens and treatment plans
• Provide ongoing education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle practices
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and treatments accurately and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards
• Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
• Stay updated with the latest developments in psychiatric nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development activities

Requirements

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Chicago, IL
• Master's degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from an accredited institution
• Clear understanding of psychiatric assessment and evidence-based treatment modalities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients, promoting a safe and supportive therapeutic environment
• Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare technologies
