Dewberry is currently seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer for our Fairfax, VA Headquarters. Duties will include building information modeling (BIM), design, drawing production, specification writing, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems for Dewberry projects.

Responsibilities

Focus will be on HVAC mechanical systems, sustainable design, and energy efficiency for buildings, however, this position may also include assisting with other building systems and the construction process in the various engineering disciplines practiced by Dewberry: sustainable design, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, construction services, energy modeling, and commissioning.

Experience with AutoCad MEP and Revit MEP software is a plus. USGBC LEED Accreditation is a plus. EIT certification is plus. Internship, part time, or full time experience in the MEP engineering industry is a plus. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0-3 years of experience working within a consulting engineering firm. The position requires a strong technical background and attention to detail and quality control. Position is for a person considering an upward professional engineering career path aspiring to project engineer, senior project engineer, assistant project manager, project manager, assistant department head, and department head.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Architect Engineering degree required

  • Previous internship preferred

  • Experience in running HVAC loads and energy modeling using Trane Trace software, preferred

  • Experience using HVAC Solutions software is preferred.

  • Experience designing mechanical systems for buildings in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination

Dewberry Consultants LLC Water Resources Engineering Department in Fairfax, Virginia has an immediate opening for wetlands scientists and permitting specialists with a background permitting for transportation and land development projects. The successful candidate will have 0-2 years of experience, wetlands certification or equivalent experience. Full time positions are available. Responsibilities * Plan and conduct field delineations of wetlands and Waters of the US * Prepare delineation reports, functional assessments, mitigation plans, and jurisdictional determinations * Prepare permit applications under Sections 404/401 of the Clean Water Act * Coordinate with state, federal, and local regulators as appropriate * Conduct vegetation and wildlife habitat surveys * Conduct threatened and endangered species surveys * Research and write NEPA documents * Prepare consultations with the US Fish and Wildlife Service * Prepare Section 106 consultations with the State Historic Preservation Officer * Conduct permit compliance monitoring and assist in conducting environmental site assessments * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation and /or GIS Required Skills & Required Experience * Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology or a related field with 0-2 years of related experience * Successful candidate must also posses excellent communication skills (oral and written) * Working knowledge MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Local Virginia, Maryland and/or District of Columbia experience and certified arborist are a plus * At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. * Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action Employer.
