Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer

An Entry Level Engineering job in Rockford, IL is currently available at Belcan in Rockford, IL. This is a full-time direct position with benefits that requires a local, onsite presence. To be considered, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree. In this job, you will be writing engineering change requests as necessary to close out supplier issues under the technical direction of a Lead Engineer. Training in the documentation processes will be provided. The product line will be aerospace Air Turbine (engine mounted) Starters (ATS) and Gearboxes (GBX) or pumps.

Job Duties:

• Create and maintain engineering documentation, primarily engineering change requests (CR"s) and supplier requests for information (SRI"s)

• Track and report on engineering change request progress

• Work with project management and planning, project teams, and production line management as necessary to support CR completion. Focus on actions and burn down plans

• Create redline drawings using engineering notes utilizing Microsoft Word, Power Point and PDF Creator software (Example: Kofax Power Pdf)

• Provide internal & external customer support for high visibility CR"s and SRI"s, specifically, CR"s/SRIs involved with maintaining compliance with Collins targets and specifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Degree

• Skilled with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Teams and SharePoint

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to provide attention to detail

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and highly organized

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience at an aerospace company

• Experience with reading and generating drawings of precision parts

• Experience/knowledge of GD &T

• Experience with Aerospace material and process specifications

Compensation:

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $60,000 to $66,560 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
