Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Federal Associate Technical Consultant, potential job descriptions are as follows:

Infrastructure Specialist- The infrastructure running industries like transportation, energy, insurance, banking or healthcare is quickly changing as the world's relationship with technology evolves. Companies have more choices than ever before between on-premise and off-premise, or a hybrid approach. Our Infrastructure Specialists are responsible for keeping up with the latest and greatest of these changes and using their expertise to deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers and products.

Package Specialist- As an Associate Package Specialist, you'll help clients in the selection, implementation, and production support of application packaged solutions. You'll gain in-depth consulting skills, business knowledge, and packaged solution expertise to effectively integrate packaged technology into the clients' business environment. Test Specialist- As an Associate Test Specialist at IBM, your analytical and technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to our clients and IBM alike.

Application Developer- As an Associate Application Developer, you will help design, develop, and integrate solutions using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products our clients demand today. You'll work with clients, co-creating solutions to major real-world challenges by translating system requirements into the design and development of customized systems in an agile environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Many jobs within GBS Federal Sector require U.S. citizenship and/or security clearance because of government or contract requirements. If you are not a U.S. citizen or are unable to obtain security clearance, there may be limited work opportunities for you, which may affect your continued employment at IBM.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year institution coupled with internship, work, and/or project experience, which will provide the analytical and technical acumen that translates to an entry level consulting role.

  • While many Federal projects are located in the Washington, DC area and have limited travel, candidates must be willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time, if project/business needs require..

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems.

This engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting customer specific Security Information & Events Management (SIEM) environments. The position is Federally focused and the engineer will need to operate within a Department of Defense/Classified environment. Key Areas of Responsibility * Provides Professional Services / Splunk architecture: Responsible for design, implementation, and troubleshooting the customer's SIEMSplunk environment. * Expertise developing security-focused content for Splunk, including creation of complex threat detection logic and operational dashboards. * Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements. * Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements. * Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work. * Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates. * Ensure solution is implemented as designed to the customer's satisfaction and approval. * Educate the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life. * Conduct throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning. * Participate in various client projects intended to continually improve/upgrade SEIM environments. * Assist in the management of projects using CDWG's project management methodology. * Work with Professional Services Managers, OEMs, Project Managers and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met. * Educates the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life.
