We have a need for an entry level Patent Prosecution Agent/Analyst in the San Diego office.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in:
Preparing and prosecuting patent applications
Contributing to prosecution strategy
Providing technical and legal research and analysis with respect to matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Providing technical support for patent interference and litigation proceedings
Strong scientific background, in electrical engineering or computer science or in the life sciences (biology, biochemistry, genetics, etc.) .
Outstanding writing and analytical skills, and top academic credentials are essential.
USPTO registration is not required.

General Summary: COLSA Corporation seeks an experienced Telecommunications Technician to support the Integrated Voice Communications System program in San Diego, CA. This position provides support for U.S. Navy shipboard telecommunications system AN/STC-2(V), MarCom and AN/STC-3(V). This position requires extensive and specific knowledge of the AN/STC-2(V), MarCom and AN/STC-3(V) systems. Candidates are required to have detailed knowledge of the system architecture and operation, the individual power components and power system, the peripheral components, devices and terminals. The candidates should also have experience in performing system maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair. This includes an in depth and working knowledge of the AN/STC-2(V), MarCom and AN/STC-3(V) system maintenance and test software routines. The candidate will be required to work on board the U.S. Navy Aegis Cruisers and Destroyers at Naval Bases and shipyards worldwide. The candidates will also work with U.S. Navy personnel, Department of Defense contractors and U.S. Government civil servants. This position will also interface with hardware, software and system engineers to evaluate problems and provide solutions. Required Experience Required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum 3+ years': hands on experience in the operation, test and repair of the AN/STC-2(V) communications system and all of its internal and peripheral parts and components; system maintenance and test software routines * Minimum 2+ years': hands on experience in the operation, test and repair of the MarCom communications system and all of its internal and peripheral parts and components; system maintenance and test software routines * Minimum 2+ years': hands on experience in the operation, test and repair of the AN/STC-3(V) communications system and all of its internal and peripheral parts and components; system maintenance and test software routines * Minimum 10+ years': test equipment use (oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, etc.); experience on board U.S. Navy ships; experience in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, ship construction drawings and wire connection lists * Minimum 5+ years': experience soldering wires, connectors and cables; experience in the inspecting, diagnosing problems, and repair of wiring and cables on board U.S. Navy ships * Experience and specific knowledge of the AN/STC-2(V), MarCom and AN/STC-3(V) systems * Detailed knowledge of the systems architecture and operation, the individual power components and power system, the peripheral components, devices and terminals required * Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in hot, cold and humid conditions * Effective written and oral communication skills and strong problem solving skills * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Passport. * This job requires travel, some of which may be overseas. Candidate must be able to travel for weeks at a time. * U.S. Citizenship required. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
