As a Device Engineering at ON Semiconductor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of an assigned group of discrete power products manufactured in our 8" wafer fab. Our products are used in automotive, industrial and consumer applications throughout the world. In this fast-paced very dynamic team-based environment, you will work closely with Process, Quality and Design Engineers, as well as with domestic and offshore manufacturing to provide robust-quality cost-competitive products to our customers. This position offers opportunities for advancement.

As a Device Engineer you will have the opportunity to:

Work with manufacturing, product line business units and development teams to introduce new technologies and products

Design and run experiments to improve device yield and quality

Cost reduce products to improve or maintain profit margins

Optimize device testing for quality and throughput

Work collaboratively with offshore assembly and test sites to improve cumulative yields and quality

Perform detailed data analysis to resolve issues and make improvements

Develop, enhance and automate systems and processes to improve quality and efficiency

Identify in-line process defects that impact yield and initiate/lead activities with the Process and Equipment groups to eliminate or reduce those defects

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physical Science or other related field

Fundamental understanding of semiconductor devices and processing

Proficiency in statistics and data analysis

Programming knowledge

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration with a team of cross-functional engineers, technicians and manufacturing operators in a global environment.

High energy and flexibility with the ability to work under pressure in a very dynamic environment with minimal supervision

Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail

Other desirable skills/experience, but not required:

  • Device and process simulation

  • Web Development

  • Server Side Programming: VB Scripts, ASP, PHP

  • SQL Programming: MS Access, MySQL and Oracle

  • Client Side Programming: HTML, JavaScript, CSS

  • Statistical Analysis

  • Spotfire Programming: R/S , TERR, IronPython

VIEW JOBS 9/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-05T00:00 Job Summary: An Equipment Engineer will have the responsibility for uptime and performance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and support areas. The candidate will be given the opportunity to work with the technical support groups to lead and implement creative solutions to improve equipment performance and reduce cost. The candidate will manage new equipment installs, by coordinating tasks with various groups to insure an on time, on budget and qualified tool to release to production. This position will be responsible for all wet processing and ion implant equipment in the Mountain Top Fab. Performance Objectives: * Within thirty days you will: * Develop a basic understanding of the manufacturing and support systems and site culture. * At the end of the first quarter you will: * Demonstrate an understanding of current practices and specifications and develop an actionable plan for continuous improvement, yield improvement, cost savings, projects, etc. * Develop and implement a migration strategy from preventive to predictive maintenance. Required Technical Experience: * Understanding of Microsoft Office Products. * Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills. * Experience in leading teams with an emphasis on project leadership fundamentals, effective communication and spending justification. * Equipment engineering skills with solid experiences in resolving tool related challenges. * In-depth knowledge of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance techniques. Qualifications: * Minimum - Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 6 years related experience. * Semiconductor processing equipment experience strongly preferred. * Experience with the following platforms is a plus: Akrion Gama wet decks; LAM 4420, 4520, 9600 & 9400 Etchers, Tel Etchers, Gasonics Etchers and Fusion Strippers * Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing priorities. * Strong project leadership, organization and excellent communication skills. * Basic understanding of safety, health and environmental areas. * Ability to utilize many information sources (internet, books, social media, etc).
