Job Summary

The responsibilities of the Clinical Systems Trainer is to educate staff, assess staff competencies and evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided, in support of Healthcare Network objectives. Trainer provides technical support for the EHR, EOHR and all integrated clinical applications, clinical peripherals and/or databases using creative problem-solving techniques to provide support and help end-user through complex issues. (S)he must manage their progress toward results and document all communication throughout the life cycle of the reported issue. (S)he is responsible for monitoring of interfaces and system workflows, ensuring an optimized functioning system. Staying current on system changes and updates; identify trends in issue tracking system and proactively address user questions and areas where support is needed. (S)he is responsible for assisting with the planning, design, and development of training materials, videos, and ongoing organizational trainings at various levels to ensure the users are optimizing system functionality.

Responsibilities and Standards

  • Develops and maintains systems' training materials, assessments and competencies up-to-date.

  • Stays current with clinical systems updates and releases.

  • Assists with the development and implementation of training programs for staff.

  • Assesses competencies and capabilities of current staff as well as new hires to determine baseline level of knowledge to be expected.

  • Communicates to staff updates in workflows and systems

  • Provide initial and ongoing end-user support and training in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Oral Health Record (EOHR) application and add on applications via classroom, phone, remote access or office revisits.

  • Providing assistance with implementations, and optimization of the clinical systems.

  • Actively supports and promotes systems standardizations and evidence-based practices in area of informatics.

  • Participate in culture to ensure the process is aligned with the organization's strategic goals, is received as a collaborative effort, and is effectively communicated internally and externally.

  • Completes required status reports and attends required meetings.

  • Keeps department informed and updated on all project activities.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability.

  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with staff and patients.

  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our organization and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.

  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.

  • Strong collaboration and engagement skills are needed at all levels.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

  • Incorporates HCN's Mission Statement and Vision into daily activities.

  • Perform other related or non-related duties as assigned.

Experience

Education/Training Level:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Clinical related field preferred.

  • Three or more years of training experience with an EHR or EOHR system preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.

Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional communications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative and support staff.

  • Demonstrates expertise in training techniques, including both development of programs and program deliveries.

  • Ability to clearly instruct and direct others.

Technology Skills:

  • Solid computer skills, proficient with MS Office and other basic office equipment (photocopier, telephone, etc.).

HCN is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Collier County on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. HCN has been providing primary care to underserved patients for 40 years. We provide comprehensive, integrated primary care to more than 50,000 patients at 21 clinic sites throughout the county with more than 75 practitioners. Services include pediatrics, family and internal medicine, an HIV/AIDS treatment program, geriatrics, women's care, dental, and integrated behavioral health. We are accredited by the Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Care (AAAHC) and are certified by AAAHC as a medical and dental home. The OB/GYN Physician provides medical care related to pregnancy or childbirth. The physician will diagnose, treat and help prevent diseases of women, particularly those affecting the reproductive system. May also provide general medical care to women of all ages.
