Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer

Job Description Job Description Overview As a design civil/environmental engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., (CEC) for our Houston office, you will be involved in: The design, permitting, analyses, preparation of drawings and technical specifications, and construction services for all types of industrial facilities, petrochecmical facilities, and solid/hazardous waste management facilities.

General civil/environmental/geotechnical engineering projects. Design of all aspects of landfills and waste operations. Developing permit application documents, contract drawings, specifications and estimates for landfills, transfer stations, landfill gas to energy facilities, and recycling facilities, as well as storm water conveyances, ponds, and drainages.

Design and permitting of industrial and rural wastewater treatment plants. Preparation of engineering design reports, feasibility studies, spill, and storm water plans. Environmental compliance services onsite and environmental compliance audits.

The candidate filling this position may be located in Houston. Qualifications Entry level to 2 years’ experience in the environmental assessment, permitting, document preparation, and construction management; experience working for industry in addition to consulting a plus. BS in engineering (e.g., civil, geotechnical, chemical, or environmental); advanced degree a plus.

Ability to earn a P.E. in Texas; EIT or progress to a P.E. in Texas preferred. AutoCAD experience preferred, preferably CAD 3D; ArcGIS experience a plus. Demonstrated good communication and leadership skills required.

Ability/willingness to assist in business development, preferred. Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process and interface with regulatory agencies. Ability to develop and monitor operational compliance strategies to meet federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
