Job Description

DLZ Corporation is looking for motivated hard-working Entry Level Civil Engineers to join our team in South Bend, Fort Wayne, & Munster, Indiana!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering, construction, and design assignments, requiring a solid grasp of at least one engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgment.

  • Typically given projects of minor complexity; may have leadership responsibility for less experienced staff.

  • Perform work under close supervision, and provide support to more experienced personnel.

  • Perform field testing of soils, concrete, observation testing of water, sewer mains, and manholes.

  • Provide clear and concise documentation of all construction project activities and quantities.

  • Perform analyses and design required for minor structures, systems and equipment items.

  • Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians. Review and check detailed drawings and layouts.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports, economic and technical feasibility studies, and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials or engineering methods.

  • Assist in the preparation of contract / proposals specifications and construction cost estimates.

  • Review Contractor's shop drawing submittal.

  • Perform construction monitoring and coordinate field activities.

  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 1 - 4 years' relevant experience in Civil Engineering, construction, and/or construction inspection

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year preferred

  • Experience with soils and concrete field testing a plus.

  • AutoCAD and MicroStation experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including; Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point

  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements

This Systems Engineer requires proven technological and customer communications experience suitable to define next generation Multi-Function Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to represent us to our customers. The SEIT engineering center ensures that customer needs are met by providing foundational EW capabilities throughout the entire system life cycle. For all programs, this includes establishment of a well-defined technical baseline, distinct system architectures, clear system requirements, thorough integration and test plans, and robust verification and validation. The SEIT works in partnership with the Software & Hardware design centers to ensure a cohesive and compliant solution baseline is not only established, but managed throughout the contract period of performance. Position requires US Citizenship as candidate will be required to have a US Security Clearance day one of employment Required Skills: * Minimum 10 years related system integration and test experience. * Knowledge of EW/RF/Communication principles and system- and subsystem-level analysis methodologies. * Experience in EW/RF/Communication Systems design and development. * Demonstrated proficiency with modelling and simulation of radio, radar or EW systems and subsystems. * Experience in performing test and data analysis on radio, radar or EW systems. * Experience with HW & SW testing of radio, radar or EW systems and subsystems. * Demonstrated proficiency with general lab/test equipment and Microsoft Office tools. * Experience interfacing, communicating and presenting to project and program management. * Experience in proposal development and bidding. * Works independently. * Active DoD Secret clearance - Current in scope (5 year) background investigation.. * U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems.
