Entry Firmware Engineer
Overview of Role:
This position will be responsible executing on Embedded Firmware designs under the supervision of a Senior Engineer for various subsystems that are incorporated into an autonomous ocean going craft. These firmware developments will range from performing straightforward monitoring functions to more complicated control of motors and actuators
Work with team members to define, design, document, test, and production release Firmware solutions. This would include
Source Code control
Integration and Unit test
Working with Hardware and Software engineers to define requirements and interfaces.
Working with Manufacturing Engineering to successfully release and deploy said designs
Working with other team members to learn about the operation of the overall product
Preparation and release of production documentation.
Ability to think analytically
Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new information quickly.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
BSEE or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
one to three years of direct experience developing Firmware or low level Software (relevant internships included)
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Familiarity with C and C++
