Entry Electrical Engineer

Overview of Role:

This position will be responsible executing on Electrical Hardware designs under the supervision of a Senior Electrical Engineer for various subsystems that are incorporated into an autonomous ocean going craft. These designs will generally be Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), incorporating both analog and digital technologies, and cabling harnesses

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with team members to define, design, document, test, and production release PCBA level solutions. This would include

  • Schematic Entry

  • Component selection

  • PCB Layout

  • Documentation release

  • Working with Software and Firmware engineers to define requirements and interfaces.

  • Working with Manufacturing Engineering and Contract Manufacturer(s) to successfully build and test said designs

  • Working with other team members to learn about the operation of the overall product

  • Preparation and release of production documentation.

  • Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new information quickly.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSEE or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
  • one to three years of direct experience designing PCBA's (relevant internships included)
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualification * Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering field. * Three plus years of progressively more responsible design and experience. * Broad technical knowledge; expertise in one or more relevant specialties. * Experience with simulation tools (e.g. circuit simulation, layout simulation, or mathematical modeling). * Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. * Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. * Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. * Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. * Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail. * Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally. * Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
