What We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking full-time entry-level Biomedical Engineer in the Virtual Surgical Planning department. The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing needs for acute trauma patients with injuries to the head and neck. Responsibilities include viewing medical imaging modalities, simulating surgical procedures, creating custom anatomical models and surgical guides, operating 3D printers, and finishing 3D printed medical devices in a high touch customer facing environment.
Successful candidates would be able to work in a fast-moving environment that may require them to adjust priorities at a moment's notice. This role will be working closely clinician to create 3D printed surgical solutions for acute trauma which will be urgent and unpredictable in nature. This role will be a non-traditional working schedule to accommodate the clinical needs of these patients.
Primary Responsibilities
Interface directly with healthcare professionals, staff, and sales representatives to perform surgical planning via phone, emails and web meetings.
Use CAD software to manipulate 3D files and combine multiple datasets for surgical planning.
Manage multiple priorities and communicate closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Maintain detailed records of each case in accordance with the company's Quality Management System.
View patient CT and MRI studies in DICOM format and identify anatomies of interest.
Utilize 3D design software to design custom medical devices
Build preparation for additive manufacturing machines
Perform inspection of 3D printed surgical guides for quality and clinical effectiveness.
Use hand tools to buff, clean, or modify the surgical guides as needed.
Work Schedule: 2 weeks on and 1 week off
What You Will Bring
BS in Biomedical, Mechanical or other relevant technical field
Experience collaborating or interacting with medical professionals
Ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers
Demonstrated relevant work experience in the field preferred
