This individual will be responsible for Cell culture media development, cell culture process optimization, HEK and insect cell process establishment of viral vector infrastructure and Chromatographic media evaluation for viral vectors. This role will execute viral vector purification and protein reagent for CGT.
Individual will also support ready to use solutions, triton X 100 replacement solutions and protein reagents such as endocluclease.
1.Plan and execute studies to map detailed performance characteristics of our product in the upstream to downstream bioprocesses by conducting cell culture/fermentation, purification and protein characterization studies
2.Identify unique applications and approaches for product integration into small-scale development labs, pilot facilities and GMP manufacturing facilities that solve specific customer problems
3.Demonstrate product utility by conducting studies at customer sites or internal laboratories leading to implementation of customers
4.Assist biopharmaceutical customers by translating data into insights in order to demonstrate the capabilities and value of our products and services to enable processes improvement, manage risks and/or meet regulatory requirements
5.Collect voice-of-customers and translate into product requirements, participate in industry organizations and work with product development teams to identify market driven product requirements, generate insight, develop novel product opportunities and provide feedback on product performance
6.Develop application notes, presentations, articles and data for technical bulletins/promotional literature.
7.Prepare and deliver presentations and technical literature to various stakeholders including customers.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
Education: Degree in biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, biology or cellular biology
Experience: Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
Hands-on skills in chemical/biological analysis, synthesis, protein purification, cell culture and/or molecular biology techniques strongly preferred
Experience working within an FDA/cGMP environment preferred
Experience/Knowledge of fill and finish process development preferred
Ability to learn and adapt, curiosity, high energy and driven to get things done.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work independently and as a member of cross-functional team.
Strong competency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Word and Excel Excellent computer skills; ability to learn new systems (i.e. salesforce.com) quickly and maneuver the internet and internal intranet sites with ease

The work environment is a laboratory/office setting, and the appropriate PPE will be required in designated areas. The Innovation Assistant may occasionally travel to other Avantor locations or customer sites. This is a full time position.
