Introduction:

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory(APL), a national leader in scientific research and development is locatedmidway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a Windows SystemAdministrator to help run a complex mixed Windows and Linux domain, utilizing

Windows server 2016, VMware, Ubuntu and RHEL.

Duties:

  • WindowsSystem Administration. Windows server installation, maintenance, patching,user management, Group Policy Objects (GPO), security controls and all otheraspects of managing a Windows enterprise network in a VMware environment. (40%)
  • TroubleshootWindows issues, Active Directory, GPOs, server hardware, and individualuser Windows Server problems. (30%)
  • Engage inthe analysis and documentation of simple to complex system issues and helpto develop enterprise solutions with scalability, availability, andmaintainability in mind. (30%)

Required Qualifications:

  • BSin Information Technology field and 6 Years of relevant experience. Four yearsrelevant of professional experience may be substituted for degree.

  • Experiencewith GPO's and complex AD structures.

  • Demonstratedexperience as an enterprise Windows Administrator.

  • Demonstratedability to be timely and agile in a dynamic environment.

  • Abilityto identify project/program needs and develop strong technical, innovativesolutions for addressing use of existing and future computing resources.

Desired Qualifications:

  • SCCMExperience

  • Experiencewith a mixed Windows / Linux environment.

  • VMwareExperience

  • Enterprise/ NFS storage experience.

Special Working Conditions:

Occasionalextended hours or travel as needed

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team in the National Security Analysis Department (NSAD). We are seeking an energetic and self motivated systems administrator to provide systems administration and engineering for Windows and Linux based platforms in multiple multi-level classified facilities. As a Systems Administrator at APL... You will configure, maintain, and install Windows and Linux workstations, servers, and associated network infrastructure. You will develop cutting edge automation tools for the stand up and maintenance of classified information systems. You will provide desk-side and remote support to troubleshoot cluster/grid problems and network issues. You will implement and document controls to ensure compliance with NISPOM/CSA requirements. You will provide classified meeting support including A/V setup and troubleshooting, classified VTC support and facilitation and/or classified laptop couriering and setup. You will participate in all aspects of the planning of facility, computer hardware and software upgrades. You meet our minimum qualifications if you: * Have a BS in cybersecurity, information assurance, computer science or equivalent work/military experience. * Have in-depth knowledge of Windows platforms (2008, 2012, 2016) and experience with Linux. * Have scripting experience (PowerShell, Ruby) * Have knowledge of virtualization (Hyper V, VMware, Citrix, Zen) * Have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff and sponsors, and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills. * Have a current DoD 8570 certification (Security or CISSP) or the ability to obtain DoD 8570 certification within six months of hire. * Currently hold a final Secret clearance or higher, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI. You meet our desired qualifications if you... * Have 6 years of systems administration experience including script development, patching, network switch configuration, virtual machine development/configuration, and/or OS builds. * Are familiar with IC networks. * Have pen testing and/or CEH experience. * Have a current or prior TS/SCI. Special Working Conditions: Most work will be completed in a closed facility and there will be some work outside of normal working hours and on weekends for operations and maintenance. You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Security: TS/SCIClearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a Governmentsecurity investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for an SSBIand access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
