Position Description

  • Manages, defines, designs, and develops system requirements. Performs trade-off analyses of performance, life-cycle cost, risk, and other system or program requirements. Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, and evaluates input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Defines system support requirements to include monitoring, capacity, staffing, patching and upgrades. Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design. Evaluates vendor capabilities using processes similar to DAR to provide required products or services. Performs engineering studies and analysis, analyze system problems in support of development, develop system implementation and integration solutions. Develops concepts, provide requirements analysis, perform modeling and simulations, cost estimations, cost benefit analysis, familiar with engineering standards, industry best practices and vendor road maps. COTS hardware and software interoperability, new technologies assessments, statistical studies, predictive analysis, project planning, script development, etc. Maintains system requirements, maintain system specifications and manuals, develops new system requirements, supports technical change boards, develops and facilitates business processes, performs system performance and data analysis, provide corrective system resolutions, collects and analyzes statistical data, project planning, risk identification and mitigation strategy, cost estimations, cost benefit analysis, COTS interoperability analysis, network connectivity resolution, develops and manages software baselines as well as software obsolescence.

  • Expert knowledge of CA Application Performance Management Monitoring Tool

  • Expert Knowledge of working with CA supports, as well as storage, Network, and Unix engineers

  • Expert Skills in CA APM upgrade, troubleshooting, CA APM systems configuration in UNIX system, PostgreSQL database, building CA APM dashboard.

  • Knowledge of other enterprise monitoring tools such as CA UIM (Unified Infrastructure Management) and NetIQ.

  • Document processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge of Change Management processes and life cycle development.

The intern or fellow will also gain skills in governance and project management and directly help our Enterprise Risk Management resources provide assurance to the organization in a more efficient and effective manner. What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties) Utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 functionality to create efficient, workflow-based processes to fulfill existing procedures for risk identification, mitigation, monitoring and attestation tracking. Process and procedures are already designed, but can be improved and Excel spreadsheet-based tools currently exist, but need to be automated. These exiting materials represent the basis for an enhanced, efficient automated process on our Save the Children SharePoint platform. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Impact Support the creation of database, workflow and visual presentation tools for Save the Children Enterprise Risk Management processes. In order to automate risk reporting and update the organizations risk portfolio so that the data and results are real time and accurate. The goal is to save time and effort that will improve efficiency and reduce human error * Implement a project planner to track engagement progress and document completion of activities.
