  • Establish long term relationships with clients.

  • Seek out new clients to place travel nurses and therapists with.

  • Negotiates contract rates and other particulars of the contract with the client.

  • Set up employment in client facilities. (i.e., submit candidate profiles, set up interviews, negotiate terms of each assignment.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fact sheets or related documents on all clients and targeted potential clients.

  • Spend 100% of time on the development and maintenance of branch accounts through outside sales activity as well as generating new sales leads.


Formal Education:

  • College degree preferred but not necessary.


  • Familiar with PC-based systems.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

  • Excellent customer service skills


  • Successful sales and/or marketing background.


  • Sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrate success in getting and maintaining accounts.

Benefits eligible. Responsible for performing basic supportive, trauma informed care to emergency services patients/families under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN. Does not interpret data. Demonstrates competence in providing age-appropriate care and service for pediatric patients from birth to 20 years 365 days, and selected adults. Responsibilities Clinical: 1. Collects, documents, and reports the following data: a. Vital signs including Temperature (oral, axillary, rectal); pulse (apical and radial); respirations; blood pressure or mean arterial pressure using the non-invasive automatic b. Heights, weights, head circumference and abdominal girth. c. Oxygen saturation. 2. Provides basic supportive care: a. Oral feedings b. Measuring input and output c. Mobility: assists with transfer to wheelchair, ED cart, ambulating d. Repositioning patients e. Helping patients into gowns 3. Follows all unit specific infection control policies and procedures a. places isolation magnet outside of patient rooms b. wears proper PPE per policy 4. Performs constant attendant responsibilities for patients: a. Cares for patients with restraints and documents observations per policy. b. Promotes general patient safety c. Completes room safety checklist d. Obtains/assist with constant packet e. Documents safety checks in EPIC every 15 minutes in BH suite, every 30-60 when constant one on one. f. crisis intervention, provides encouragement support and reinforces positive behavior with a therapeutic, calm approach while maintaining therapeutic boundaries, setting limits, and utilizing de-escalation techniques including physical intervention skills 5. Assist with post mortem care.6. Performs the following procedures: a. Specimen collection: (urine for urinalysis and culture, stool for stool studies, sputum for culture, gastric drainage, blood by capillary puncture). b. Specimen testing per unit policy. c. Holds, positions patient and assists with procedures (examples: IV insertion, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion and removal). d. Gathers/opens/sets up supplies (including sterile trays) to assist RN and others. e. Gathers tubing for both peripheral IVs and central venous catheters (does not include assembly, spiking bag or priming tubing). f. Attaches patients to the pulse oximeter according to policy g. Completes EKG h. performs ear irrigation i. performs visual acuity j. assist with eye irrigation 8. Transports patients outside of the ED or Urgent Cares 9. Completes daily QCs on POCT glucometer 10. Responds to Trauma Activations: a. Provides chest compressions b. Delegated duties within their scope 11. Completes or reinforces unit/room orientation to patient and/or family 12. Accepts delegation from RN. Demonstrates time and resource management. 13. Follows hospital policies and procedures 14. Follows HIPAA guidelines 15. Participates in unit/program/area quality improvement activities 16. Perform general unit tasks (answers phone, call lights, admission/discharge functions) Environmental: 1. Cleans patient rooms a. wipe down gurney per infection control policy b. wipe down countertops and furniture 2. Changes needle boxes 3. Cleans the unit/area refrigerators (conference room, medication rooms, EMS room) 4. Stocks the unit and Checks expiration dates on all supplies 5. Assists unit in maintaining Joint Commission readiness (keeping hallways clear, linen carts covered, etc.) 6. Completes unit specific environmental duties as assigned 7. Empties linen bags 8. Restocks linen Educational: 1. Acts as a preceptor of orientation and training of other PCA staff 2. Provides peer input for performance appraisals at the request of ES leadership 3. Identifies own learning needs, seek assistance and attend educational programs as needed 4. Attends annual/mandatory in services within designation time frame 5. Participates in educational activities offered by the unit Interpersonal: 1. Must be able to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner. Must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic Must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinion 2. Demonstrates promptness and consistency in meeting scheduled work commitments 3. Provides age-appropriate care (based on growth and development principles) to patients and families. 4. Participates as a member of the patient care team by assisting others. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. High school graduate or equivalent GED 2. State tested nursing assistant strongly preferred OR one year of comparable experience in a hospital setting within the past 3 years -OR basic EMT active card holder -OR Medical Assistant certification -OR Nursing students can qualify if they have successfully completed the fundamentals of nursing course(s) of their college/school program. 3. Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills 4. Basic computer skills, i.e. navigation, use of mouse, keyboard 5. Must be able to perform basic math calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) 6. Neat appearance, good grooming and professional manner 7. Must perform manual tasks with or without accommodations, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty 8. Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving patients and/or equipment 9. Must be able to independently lift up to 25 pounds 10. Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment 11. Completion of orientation classes offered by Nationwide Children's Hospital, the Department of Professional Development and individual unit based orientation 12. Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients 13.
