The person in this position will provide engineering support for our Microsoft SCOM / System Center Operations Manager solutions deployed in our environment.

Work you'll do

In this role you will interact with our Enterprise Operations and Application Development teams and will be proficient in the use and administration of these tools:

  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) installation, configuration, and troubleshooting: experience with setting up agents, building gateways, configuration data collections, building reports from the SCOM data warehouse database.

  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) Management Packs: gather requirements; build custom management packs and discovery scripts; troubleshoot discovery; validate data collection in non-production SCOM management groups; promote to production in production SCOM management groups,

  • Silect MP Studio: Use management pack authoring tool to build and update SCOM management packs.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Management (SCOM) Suite

  • 5 years' experience with SCOM Management Pack Development

  • Strong experience with Windows and Unix Operating Systems and collecting log data and discovering objects

  • 5 years' experience with scripting and automation with PowerShell scripting and SQL queries languages.

  • Strong experience following the development lifecycle for creating SCOM Management Packs requirements gathering; development in Silect MP Studio; testing in non-production; promotion to production.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline is desired.

  • 5+ years of related experience in monitoring solutions in information technology services required

  • Ability to work and communicate well with others

  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment (peers are in various US cities and India)

  • Good customer service skills

  • Good organizational and planning skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Ability to travel in the domestic US up to 10%
