About the Role

LendingClub's Enterprise and Operational Risk Management team is responsible for leading enterprise and operational risk management activities throughout the Bank. This team supports the Bank's Chief Risk Officer (CRO) by managing all enterprise and operational risk governance activities (e.g., management and board committee governance, policy and training strategy and administration, issue management, operational loss events, and risk and control self-assessments).

We are looking to hire an ERM Program Manager to support and focus on risk program governance (managing and enhancing committee reporting), risk appetite, risk assessment, new initiatives, training planning, policy management, and execution of enterprise risk and operational risk strategic initiatives (e.g., supporting First Line maturation). This role may also support other areas of the team, including change management, or operational risk management program support.

This position will report to the ERM Program Director, who reports to the VP, Head of Enterprise and Operational Risk Management. The ideal candidate will be someone willing to hit the ground running, an effective cross-functional collaborator and leader, and a self-starter.

  • Assist with the preparation of management MIS, management committee, and board committee reporting under the direction of the ERM Program Director and VP, Head of Enterprise and Operational Risk Management

  • Maintain the risk governance calendar to ensure correct sequencing of management and board committee meetings across the organization

  • Maintain a well organized risk committee governance schedule that ensures all risk governance documentation (policies, committee charters, annual items, meeting materials, and minutes, etc.) are taken to the correct committee for the correct action (review, approve) on a timely basis

  • Develop committee presentations and templates to ensure management and board committees maintain appropriate oversight of LendingClub's management of all risks

  • Collect reporting from key stakeholders across the Bank and review for grammar and succinctness, provide effective challenge on content, and manage feedback from multiple parties (Director, VP, Head of Enterprise and Operational Risk Management, Chief Risk Officer, business executive)

  • Support the Bank's CRO through execution of strategic initiatives, including but not limited to continued maturation of risk programs across 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense, continued enhancement of the Bank's suite of risk appetite metrics and key risk indicators, facilitation of enterprise risk assessments, and streamlining of committee reporting

  • Support LendingClub's policy on the administration of enterprise policies, standards, and programs, including requirements on supporting procedures

  • Administer the company's policy administration tool

  • Support in gathering information/reporting for regulatory and audit requests

  • Support other ERM and ORM initiatives as-needed

About You

  • 5+ years of risk management experience in the financial services industry, including fintech and regulated financial institutions, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Working knowledge of specialized risk areas, including but not limited to operational, compliance, legal, strategic, reputational, financial, and credit risk

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with strong interpersonal skills to successfully influence strategic initiatives at all organizational levels
