Position Overview

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Analyst reports to the Director of Enterprise Risk Management. This role works closely with the Enterprise and Model Risk Program Manager in developing and enhancing the bank's ERM program. This role involves providing analytics, technology support, research and risk assessments across the enterprise. The position offers high visibility, working with senior leaders and exposure to various functional areas and business lines within the bank.

The Enterprise Risk Management Department is responsible for establishing and maintaining the formal risk management structure that helps the bank achieve its strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor risks across all areas of the bank, including credit, market, operational, liquidity, compliance and reputation.
  • Supports the Director of ERM and dashboard owners on the development of Key Risk Indicators (KRI's), including risk appetite measures and risk targets, tolerances, and limits.
  • Assists in the ongoing evaluation of existing KRIs/KPIs and the development of new risk metrics, by working cross-collaboratively with key leaders across the organization.
  • Compile, complete and deliver high quality reports in a timely fashion for management and board level committees as needed, including the Enterprise Risk Committee, Risk Management Committee and the Board Risk Committee.
  • Manage the KRI/KPI Action Plan process, leading the documentation effort with the dashboard owners, that includes root cause and industry analysis to support actions reported to the Board.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and enhancement of Risk Management policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of risk reporting processes throughout the bank to support the Risk Appetite Statement and risk-reporting framework.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., credit, finance, operations) to assess risks, recommend improvements, and ensure alignment with the bank's strategic objectives
  • Serve as the link between the ERM and Data Governance Program, providing support on reporting practices and governance design.
  • Regularly monitor the enterprise issues management system and generate detailed reports on identified issues to be reported to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist the Enterprise and Model Risk Program Manager in managing regulatory relations.
  • Engages in ad-hoc projects or requests as deemed appropriate by the Director of Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Compliance Training: Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field or equivalent education experience can be substituted.

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years of direct experience in a risk management program or related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, modeling, loss estimation, or technology development preferred.

  • Required Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking skills and practical knowledge of data analysis tools, statistical techniques, and risk management frameworks.

  • In-depth understanding of risk management principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices in the banking sector.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and business intelligence tools.

  • Ability to build quality Board level reporting.

  • Highly motivated, deadline driven, and results focused.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SharePoint.

  • Experience with SOX, COSO, and/or ERM Principles.

  • Solid project management, process implementation, and maintenance skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not manage employees.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, and printers.

Physical requirements: sedentary, standing, or typing

Position requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

This position requires up to 15% travel.
