Overview

True Group is looking for a strategic and skilled Enterprise Retail Architect for a high-visibility project for a key client in the C-store/Petroleum space. This project will run for the next 6 months, with a high probability of additional project work. There will be possible travel to our client's overseas offices, so a valid passport is required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews market trends within the retail space and recommends technology strategies to align with the business initiatives.

  • Develops and maintains the technology roadmaps that drive innovation within the organization for all in-store integration, including: point of sale platform, payment systems & processing, team member mobility tools, integration of POS into cloud services, and other technologies to improve the customer experience and drive sales.

  • Reviews technical designs to ensure that they are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards and best practices.

  • Accountable for the availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability enabled by the designs. Works with business partners to ensure design meets desired outcomes.

  • Collaborates with both IT and business senior leadership to influence decisions controlling millions of dollars in annual technology and business investment .

  • Develops and maintains artifacts in the Architecture Library.

  • Reviews, aligns, and drives technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture for larger organizations.

  • 5+ years Retail industry experience, C-store and/or Petroleum/Fuel industry a plus.

  • Superior knowledge of multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments across enterprise, including: Point of Sale (POS), Payment Systems & Processing, Self-Checkout, Team Member Mobility, & other retail technologies.

  • Hands-on experience in enterprise knowledge in the following architecture domains: application, collaboration, data integration, networks, platform, security and systems management, site reliability engineering.

  • Prior experience working with distributed retail within a technical environment.

  • Experience in POS (point-of-sale) integration to Cloud based services.

  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture alternatives.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in both business and technical contexts, with the ability to communicate up the Global CIO level.

  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to develop completely new problem-solving approaches and formulate innovative solutions.

  • Advanced knowledge of API and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and usage to improve retail store efficiency.

  • Prior experience working on a global level preferred.

  • Valid passport for possible overseas travel.
