Looking for a data adventure? An ERP Reporting Analyst's role is unique in that the candidate must be technically knowledgeable and have the leadership skills to lead across functions, organizations, and applications. The candidate participates in evaluating new technologies to ensure the advancement of technology architecture and data within the organization's Business Intelligence needs.

Gainesville Regional Utilities' Information Technology Department is seeking an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Reporting Analyst to join the Application Management division to support the Utility's enterprise systems. This position is responsible for storing data, analyzing reports, and resolving problems by collaborating with various company departments. They also participate in evaluating new technologies to ensure the advancement of technology architecture and data within the organization's Business Intelligence needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines

  • Acts as content expert to provide business and technical expertise in requirements solicitation, system analysis, technical design, programming, and documentation of business applications/systems

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to navigate through multiple teams to resolve complex issues. Good conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Knowledge and experience at the Subject Matter Expert (SME) level in MORE than one of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory Management, HR/Payroll, Customer Service, Marketing, Work Management, or Field Operations

  • Experience with SAP HANA Studio and SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence suite (BOBJ)

We may extend preference to candidates who possess:

  • Current IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification

  • Current Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certification

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)

  • ESRI Certifications or work experience building reports with ArcGIS tools like ArcGIS Pro or GIS Report Studio.

To qualify for this position, you must possess:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Technology, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in business information systems, integrated system analysis, professional analytics, or software lifecycle management;

or Associate degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Technology, mathematics, business administration, or related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in business information systems, integrated system analysis, professional analytics, or software lifecycle management;

or Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in business information systems, integrated system analysis, professional analytics, or software lifecycle management

Including at least three (3) years of SAP experience analyzing and solving complex SAP problems and one (1) year of SAP BW/BI experience.

We require a valid State Driver's License at the time of hire, and a valid Florida Driver's license is required within 30 days of the start date and at all times while employed in this classification.

Job Description:

SUMMARY

The ERP Reporting Analyst performs advanced analytical work supporting the implementation of the ERP software for Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU). This position is responsible for storing data, creating reports, analyzing reports, creating custom reporting software, and sharing findings with various company departments, including IT, to resolve anomalies and issues. The role is unique in that the candidate must be technically knowledgeable and have the leadership skills to lead across functions, organizations, and applications.

Positions allocated to this classification report to the ERP Director (Center of Excellence) and work under limited direction as part of the SAP Center of Excellence team. Work in this class is distinguished from other classes by its leadership duties, interdepartmental interactions, independently executed and highly complex assignments, and superior technical skills. This position will join the Center of Excellence team in supporting ERP System implementations and supporting continuous improvements thereafter.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Depending on the area of assignment:

Translates stakeholder's requirements into reporting deliverables.

Assists analyst team with dashboard and report generation.

Develops performance metrics.

Develops ad-hoc reports to conduct data analysis and validation.

Participates in evaluating new technologies so as to ensure the advancement of technology architecture and data within organization's Business Intelligence needs.

Oversees reporting projects and enhancements from requirements gathering through implementation.

Conducts business analysis and recommends technical alternative solutions to management that best meets the organization's goals.

Researches, evaluates and assesses the financial impact of issues identified in data/processes.

Supports, troubleshoots, and maintains systems and applications as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow-up on identified issues.

Analyzes requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing business systems.

Creates multiuser, real-time, robust database solutions.

Acts as content expert to provide business and technical expertise in requirements solicitation, system analysis, technical design, programming and documentation of business applications/systems.

May be responsible for monitoring and reporting to management on the status of departmental projects: Anticipates and identifies issues that could inhibit achieving the project goals and objectives, and implementing corrective actions and mitigation strategies.

Performs appropriate analysis on data: forecasting, modeling, regression.

Mines data from appropriate system and perform appropriate analysis on data.

Designs data models for reporting that will support the Organization's requirements and ERP data relationships.

Provides Data Governance by continuously enhancing and documenting Reporting Designs and Standards.

Ensures that test plans, procedures and results meet expectations.

Creates and maintains documentation on provided solutions in forms of business process procedures, technical specifications, unit/integration test scripting and required change control documentation.

Works with business area to produce functional documentation

Writes technical documentation.

Performs production support functions like end user training / help, working support incidents, updating support ticket databases, problem & service request management.

Responsible for immediate BI reporting and production issues.

Creates HANA views including attribute, analytic and calculation view (both graphical and non-graphical).

Develops HANA Live content.

Administrators and manages Reporting System including extraction, loading and transformation of data from Various Database system or application.

Works with business owners to understand requirements, and design, develop, and deliver financial reports and data templates using the EPM Add-in.

Drives the development of new reporting tools and data views to enable sound business assessments and facilitate decision making.

Regularly assesses practices for continuous improvement opportunities, aligns key stakeholders on the options and delivers the agreed to changes.

Maintains the mapping of transactional and syndicated data used in corporate wide tool sets and applications.

Attends work on a continuous and regular basis.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

May require after-hours, weekend support or on-call responsibilities.

May function as project team member.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES

Valid driver license required upon start date. Valid Florida Driver License required within 30 days of start date and at all times while employed in this classification.

Preferred Certifications

Preferred Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency in BW/BI (Modeling, Cubes, DSOs and process chains).

Proficiency in BOBJ tools (Analysis for Office, Lumira, etc.).

Experienced, certified, or at a minimum trained in the implementation and use of SAP S4/HANA and in development with HANA Live content

HANA Integration with Business Objects and HANA Transports.

Understanding of interfaces set up with multiple systems using ODBC, OData, etc.

Hands on working with variables, Input parameters, Calculated, Restricted measures, Counters, Decision Tables etc. in HANA Studio.

Hands on Knowledge of HANA SQL script and CE functions for developing Calculation views and Stored Procedures.

Understanding of HANA live data models and implementation. Data mining and quantitative analysis.

Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and ability to coordinate multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. .

Ability to navigate through multiple teams in resolving complex issues.

Good conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Must have demonstrated experience in collaborating with business to design creative solutions that align with business priorities and deliver business value.

Ability to support organizational and departmental goals.

Advanced knowledge of business processes with knowledge and experience at the Subject Matter Expert (SME) level in MORE than one of the following areas: Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory Management, HR/Payroll, Customer Service, Marketing, Work Management, Field Operations, Web Content or Application Usability.

Advanced knowledge and experience with project management methodologies.

Advanced knowledge and experience with software development lifecycle.

Advanced knowledge and experience with software testing and quality assurance principles.

Ability to perform complex root-cause analysis.
