Profile Summary

Voya Financial is seeking a top candidate to join our Enterprise Project Management Office in our Windsor, CT office. This analytical position will work with both the technical team and the business users to test and document standard usage scenarios related to Voya's Project Management software application. This is a fantastic opportunity for promising top-caliber students to gain meaningful professional experience and exposure to a Fortune 500 company.

Profile Description

The responsibilities include:

  • Develop and modify IT solutions for business issues related to Voya's Project Management software application

  • Collaborate with end users and members of the technical teams to define, document and review business requirements

  • Test standard usage scenarios, document results and issues that must be addressed to achieve the desired results

  • Testing and documentation may include reports developed in Excel, Tableau and Jaspersoft

  • Schedule and coordinate meeting participants and agendas and document meeting outcomes

  • Perform some light Project Management duties such as updating project plans, tracking issues and risks and creating email, Power Point or other communications to project stakeholders

  • Participate and contribute in all team and project meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related business fields

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA is required

  • Must be able to work well independently once given direction

  • Must have a high tolerance for ambiguity and be comfortable with frequent change

  • Strong listening and time-management skills.

  • Highly functional user of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Project

  • Aptitude and desire to learn project management practices based on PMI standards

  • Aptitude and desire to learn software applications such as Clarity PPM and Tableau

  • Ability to take a large amount of seemingly disjointed information and break it down to meaningful summarized bullet points

  • Available to work 40 hours/week in the summer (10-12 weeks)

Job Summary: Our ideal Project Manager candidate is able to work independently and apply project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, communications and presentations to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations. You'll use your skills to understand, apply, promote and contribute to Voya delivery methodologies, standards and tools. Job Responsibilities: * Oversees the organization and execution of assigned project(s), in order to ensure successful implementation and readiness (business & technology). * Accountable as a leader in the Enterprise PMO for the execution of multiple projects across a project portfolio (schedule; budget; resources). This includes the day-to-day management of specific project components as well as directing the successful execution of other teams' leadership in execution of their day-to-day project execution efforts. * Demonstrates high level understanding of Voya products and services and applies that knowledge to project leadership responsibilities. Clearly understands and articulates the business value of the projects assigned to. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines within the Retirement Solutions organization (business and technology) as well as the ability to manage geographically disbursed teams. Manages effectively across and up the organization. * Effectively organizes and facilitates a cross-disciplinary team to address key aspects of project execution and success, including, but not limited to, marketing & communications; training; operational process/procedures; product and services development; legal & compliance; technology enablement.
