Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Project Management Section Chief this position is responsible for planning, development, implementation and administration of complex infrastructure, applications, and IT service development and critical support projects that have statewide impact.

This position provides project management expertise for customers within state government. This role is key in promoting and adhering to the organization's Project Management Methodology, including communication and management of tasks for all phases of the Project Lifecycle. The position guides and trains senior and specialist level staff.

This position primarily provides advanced level project management, analysis and design for the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance for business applications and infrastructure systems projects, which support consolidated IT services throughout the enterprise.

In addition, the incumbent serves on advisory committees and works closely with the sponsor of the projects they are managing. At the Consultant/Administrator level, the employee will manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Information

Starting salary for the IS Enterprise Technical Services Consultant Administrator (07-32) will be between $39.04 - $56.00 an hour, depending on applicant qualifications A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and/or background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. Employees are expected to work and live in Wisconsin. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience with all of the following:

  • Performing IT/IS project management functions throughout all phases of a project such as decision-making, analyzing, communicating with customers and project staff, and resolving conflicts as they arise.

  • Leading IT/IS project teams and staff.

  • Leading cross functional, cross business unit, or cross organization projects.
