Overview

Purpose Statement:

This position will focus on network architecture, strategy and direction. The position will work with key stakeholders and teams across the Acadia enterprise to guide and assist in the delivery of network architectures and technologies, while maintaining the necessary standards and structures in support of operational excellence. This position will translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of solutions in response to the business need. This position will work closely with other architects and infrastructure engineers to ensure the necessary availability and functionality of the network across all tiers and levels. This position will work closely with various stakeholders to assist in identifying emerging technologies and strategies surrounding the network environment. In addition to the management of ongoing standards, this position will also be responsible for the necessary roadmaps and their communication across the enterprise, ensuring the delivery of a world-class enterprise network. Further, this position will directly engage with Clinical leadership and other formal practice areas to ensure necessary support.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Complex SD-WAN/WAN/LAN designs utilizing best practice switching/routing technologies and topologies

  • Planning and integration of new technologies within a large network environment

  • New and best of breed product and technology evaluations and research, integration testing proposals

  • Working with vendors on product design enhancements to integrate new technologies

  • OSPF/BGP routing protocols, IP advertising/filtering/redistribution, Quality of Service, IP multicast

  • Engineering consultations of Level III network troubleshooting/problem resolutions, protocol analysis, network troubleshooting/problem determination skills with network trace/capture/analysis software

  • System architecture and tiered application modules knowledge. Understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns

  • Network impact analysis, modeling, network capacity planning

  • Software/hardware device upgrades, LAN equipment configurations/provisioning

  • Utilizing network standards and policies/procedural documentation and enterprise level network diagramming

  • IP addressing, variable length subnet masking

  • Networking services for ACS, AAA, DHCP, BOOTP, DNS, ICMP and SNMP

  • Design and Support for network security technologies and products

  • Remote access technologies (i.e. SSL-VPN, IPSec, B2B, private line and Dial-up).

  • Understand long-term business objectives and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives

  • Work closely with leadership, business and product owners to establish and validate network design requirements

  • Work collaboratively with and across multiple development teams to align network architecture.

  • Communicate design solutions directly with customers and stakeholders to ensure projects follow Enterprise Architecture standards

  • Stays current on the ever-changing technology industry to ensure developed solutions are following both internal and industry "best practices"

  • Experience with Zero Trust technologies and methodologies

  • Leading the selection of technologies for further research and opportunities within Acadia

  • Identification of emerging technology and developing plans for adoption of technology within Acadia

  • Demonstrate strong personal and organizational leadership skills

  • Serve as lead architect where appropriate/assigned on initiatives at the direction of leadership

  • Develop and maintain core networking components of the Architecture Plan to ensure these are up-to-date

  • Direct, identify and proof emerging technologies

  • Ensure project technology decisions are aligned to Enterprise Architecture standards and policies (or otherwise see that they are expanded)

  • Identify architecture challenges related to the project activities and work with Project Manager, Application Architect and Technical Architect to resolve

  • Responsible for building strong relationships with Information Technology leaders, Business leaders, project managers, and other technical domain experts

  • Participates in and/or facilitates architecture activities, such as Architecture Review Board meetings, providing technical design advice and assistance to various project teams, working with key business leaders in identifying technical solutions, working directly with Information Technology leadership in the selection and review of technologies.

  • Engages with external resources to stay abreast and informed of trends and opportunities that might improve or impact Acadia's direction relative to the use and deployment of network architectures, inclusive of both on-premise and cloud-based capabilities. Additionally, influences external entities to the betterment and support of Acadia's needs.

  • Serves as a key agent for supporting the development of an overall competency in key technologies, disciplines and architectures

  • Provide mentoring and guidance on technical and architectural direction, methodology, design, and reuse

  • Will work with security, infrastructure, and other departments to ensure alignment with standards across all layers of the network

Qualifications

EducationExperience/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 7 years experience working as a Network Architect or within large scale Network Operations

  • Experience in a complex Healthcare-focused environment preferred

  • Possesses deep knowledge of wide and local area networking technologies and practices, including WiFi, BLE, 5G and other wireless technologies

  • Cisco Data Networking Technologies

  • Aruba Wireless Networking Technologies

  • Layer 1-2 (ie: Trunking, VLANs, STP, Multicast, PPP, Frame/Relay, ATM, MPLS, Metro-E)

  • Layer 3 (ie: OSPF, BGP, Cisco VRFs, QOS, ACLs, Route redistribution, MPLS-VPNs, etc..)

  • Network Management Tools (ie: CiscoWorks, Voyence, IP-SLA, Netflow, SNMP, logging, etc..)

  • Working knowledge of server infrastructure and application topologies

  • Developing capacity planning strategies used by operational departments.

  • Troubleshooting complex nation-wide network issues.

  • IP management standards.

  • Network Services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc..)

  • Video networking technologies

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Must exhibit a strong attention to detail coupled with an ability to multi-task

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization

  • Detail-oriented

  • Detailed knowledge of key technologies in a healthcare setting

  • Must be able to execute and move efforts forward

  • Must be able to demonstrate strategic thinking and adaptability

  • Must be able to influence others and drive change
