Job Summary:

  • Reporting to the Senior Group Technology Manager as Chief of Staff, responsible for the day to day management of administrative needs of the Data & Enterprise Content Management IT group, including project portfolio management, staff training, headcount reporting, financials, security/threat management, business continuity, etc.

  • Provide leadership as second in command, indirectly supervising the managers of the Data and Enterprise Content Management group

  • Responsible for much of the group's interactions with other IT organizations within the MUFG Americas, including other application development teams, Enterprise Data Architecture, Information Security, and Infrastructure

  • Responsible for reporting status to ISA Leadership, Home Office in Tokyo, and Chief Data Office as necessary

  • Responsible to help manage the $35 million/year budget for the group

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports a team that provides a comprehensive set of IT Data services to the entire Bank, including Data Warehousing, Master & Reference Data Management, Business Intelligence & Insights, and Content Management

  • Handles group-wide issues and requests for information around project portfolio management and status, staff training, headcount reporting, financials, security/threat management, business continuity, and timesheet booking

  • Works closely with internal stakeholders including Business, Operations, Enterprise Data Architecture, Chief Data Office, Information Security, and Infrastructure Services

  • Oversees the portfolio of data and content services from strategy through design, development, deployment, and operation

  • Helps ensure stable production environment with managers of applications to keep Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all data services

  • Actively seeks Continuous Improvement in the quality and performance of data services and staff

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of direct work experience in enterprise data projects

  • Customer oriented with a drive to provide excellent levels of service

  • Effective team leadership and ability to execute

  • Ability to communicate with both business and technology people

  • Familiar with fundamental Enterprise data integration technologies and methods such as ETL and data quality services

  • Able to see the big picture while also focusing on the important details

  • Preferred experience working within the commercial banking industry

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.

  • Experience managing Enterprise Common Technology Assets across multiple stakeholders

Preferred, but optional knowledge/skills/experience: * Hands-on experience with geospatial tools (ArcGIS) to access and use data. * Experience developing and maintaining project schedules (MS Project). * Experience with data warehouse tool evaluation. * Experience supporting data governance, data management (data standards, master data, reference data). * Experience managing/working as part of a virtual team. * Experience managing content in SharePoint, document repositories, software repositories.
