Position Location/Remote Office: The office is located at 7150 Harris Drive Dimondale, MI. This position is hybrid in nature, requiring 2 days per week within the office.
The employee provides oversight, technical leadership, and accountability for the practice of applying cybersecurity emergency management principles across the State of Michigan (SOM) Information Technology Enterprise. There are five major areas of responsibility for this role: policy, architecture, implementation guidance, compliance, and process definition.
Within these cybersecurity emergency management areas, tasks range from collaborating on policy definition, technology selection, project review, to emergency incident response. Definition and implementation of these cybersecurity principles requires diverse skills including infrastructure and application technical architecture, security theory, and technology vulnerability analysis. The employee collaborates with SOM DTMB infrastructure teams, application teams, security teams, as well as state agency management, security, and emergency management teams to define an integrated security cyber emergency management framework for the SOM. The employee in this position also acts as an advisor on cybersecurity emergency management to both SOM leadership and external cyber groups both public and private.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
Experience
Information Technology Specialist 15
Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
OR
At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
Michigan State Police
Candidates selected for this position must complete the Michigan State Police background check. This extensive background check requires fingerprinting for state and federal criminal background records. The background check search will include, but is not limited to, arrests, criminal charges, criminal convictions, and any information regarding contact with a criminal justice agency.
Certain positions may be assigned subclass codes and individuals appointed must possess the required specialized experience.
