The team

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.


Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of experience in SDLC, .Net development

Public Trust clearance


.Net development

Devops experience


Enterprise architecture

Good communication, strong consulting skills.

Candidate need to be able to hold a federal clearance.

Dovel Technologies is looking for a Solutions Architect in Rockville, Maryland. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for converting requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately create the technical solution. The Solution Architect will serve as a development team leader and ensure buy-in from the development team, so that the team is motivated to match the detailed design of the solution to the higher-level architecture. Skills and Responsibility: * Applies technical knowledge to assist team in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems. * Work with business owners and scrum teams to provide architectural direction. * Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework. * Applies knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the enterprise technical architecture. * Strategize with program leadership; maintain a high-level understanding of the current and upcoming requirements * Design and development of RESTful APIs. * Apply development design patterns. * Apply design methodologies including Object-Oriented Design and Analysis and Domain-Driven Design. * Leverage architectural styles and patterns (SOA, Microservice, Layered, Clean, Event Sourcing, CQRS, etc.). * Apply quality techniques and practices (automated unit testing, Test Driven Design/Development, java performance analysis, continuous integration). Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or in an associated discipline or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. * Masters Degree preferred. * 12 years of software experience. * Train and mentor other software engineers. * Government experience required and understanding of US Government domain regulations and constraints. * Hands-on work expertise in architecting and analyzing information technology (IT) solutions. * Demonstrable experience with Java/J2EE system development and architecture. * Demonstrable experience with the architecture and deployment of cloud-based (Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.) solutions, including application migration to cloud-based architectures. * Experience drafting and delivering presentations. * Must have superior written and verbal communication skills. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
