Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Software Services group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an Enterprise Applications Developer! This team works a remote 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform as a developer on the Application Services team.

  • Develop using a variety of technologies including PLSQL and Oracle, Java, Javascript, HTML, SQL, ASP.NET and C# in both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Maintain interfaces between a variety of applications which include both Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software as well as INL developed.

  • Design, code, test, correct and document large and /or complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.

  • Provide input on the completion of complex application development and quality delivery.

  • Select and use tools and methods to establish, clarify and communicate the user experience, users' characteristics, and tasks, and identifies the technical, organizational and physical environment in which complex products or systems will operate.

  • Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of database concepts, object and data modeling techniques and design principles and a detailed knowledge of database architectures and software.

  • Perform database and web/middleware tasks independently of supplied specifications using REST and WebAPI.

  • Take part in reviews of own work and reviews of colleagues' work.

  • Collaborate on the design structures and tools for systems which meet business needs.

  • Translates logical designs into physical designs and produces detailed design documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Level 2: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 2 years experience OR 10 years experience/education in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • Level 3: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 5 years experience OR 13 years experience/education in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • Applicants are subject to the requirements of DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.

  • Experience in developing in Java, Javascript, HTML, and PLSQL.

  • Experience in developing in .Net, C#.

  • Experience using SQL and ORACLE databases in application development.

  • Solid understanding of database concepts and design principles.

  • Ability to be a great teammate and effectively organize and lead tasks.

  • Ability to communicate with both business and technical audience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with other development languages.

  • Experience with identifying processes for automation.

  • Salary Grade 200 ($79,140 - $130,572) / Salary Grade 210 ($91,032 - $150,156)

This team works a virtual 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off!</p><p>Responsibilities Include:</p><ul><li><p>Provide technical, strategic, and human capital leadership for the Geospatial Data Science and Applications Group.</p></li><li><p>Oversee and leads the research, development, and deployment associated with operations research, dynamic systems modeling, and spatial analytics to fundamentally change how to analyze and extract knowledge, for complex system design and operations for energy and defense systems.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate and partner with government agencies, academia, and private sector companies to achieve project objectives.</p></li><li><p>Work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers on challenging work scope and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, co-workers, and with customers.</p></li><li><p>Publish results of research and development in a mix of refereed publications and conference proceedings.</p></li><li><p>Work effectively with other research teams to develop and manage cross-cutting technical programs for a variety of customers.</p></li><li><p>Participate in and lead technical work including performing research and development in the areas of geospatial data science, data visualization, software analysis and integration, and modeling and simulation.</p></li><li><p>Participate in group development teams and grow technical capabilities in a variety of computational engineering areas.
