Richards, Layton & Finger, Delaware's largest law firm, seeks an innovative Enterprise Applications Administrator for its IT team in Wilmington, DE. This exempt position's responsibilities would include:

  • Working with attorneys, support departments and personnel to support software technology needs in all areas of practice;

  • Customizing applications, developing macros, script files, and batch files for automating various tasks;

  • Working with legal practice groups and administration to develop databases and spreadsheets that will enhance efficiency and productivity;

  • Designing enhancements to and update material on the Firm's SharePoint environment and coordinates projects relating to the Web site and Intranet;

  • Researching, evaluating and experimenting with new software as needed;

  • Installing, updating and maintaining software applications and databases;

  • Providing work direction to Applications Analysts and/or Specialists.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of complex automated information systems as normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science or business administration or, the equivalent experience;

  • Three to seven years of progressively responsible work experience with legal or other professional service organizations in order to gain experience in managing automated information systems including strategic planning, analyzing complex issues and difficult systems problems;

  • Ability to communicate complex systems information and ideas effectively and efficiently to attorneys, managers and staff often with minimal preparation;

  • Ability to rapidly analyze issues, anticipate consequences, make decisions and initiate action;

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10 operating system; Microsoft SQL and Access, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

  • Ability to administer and maintain MS SQL and MS Access databases;

  • Proficient in legal software platforms (iManage, IntApp, Mobile time entry, West km, Handshake, Rainmaker, etc.);

  • Experience in application development process automation and improvement.

VIEW JOBS 7/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-12T00:00 Overview Act as the application administrator for business-critical applications to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of components and related technologies in support of core organizational functions. Responsibilities Plan and coordinate application upgrades, routine maintenance and patches. Communicate timelines to users including system outages, etc. Work with users to describe new and/or evolving functionality as needed. Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned applications. Monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity. Elevate issues to technical staff as needed and document all the processes. Act as a point of contact to troubleshoot application issues, work with clients to determine the scope of the problem and collect all relevant details to identify potential solutions. Make recommendations for work-arounds and/or elevate issues beyond scope of authority. Gather business requirements from end users, prepare low level design specifications, test and deploy new and/or modified functions in an Agile/Waterfall environment. May attend daily and/or weekly meetings to review specifications and work through process and/or functional issues as they arise. Manage system administration tasks such as setting up roles, workflows and views within the applications. Perform data analysis, prepare reports and if needed profile and tune the system. May require performing some basic development work as needed. Develop, modify and run the daily application processes in accordance with best practices. May act as the system administrator to install applications. Implement different components of business-critical applications as needed. Perform production support during normal and on-call hours. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to the systems documentation, policies, and practices. Qualifications Education/Experience: * An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience. * A minimum of 5 years related experience in a technical IT role with understanding of Windows servers, SQL databases, and SQL scripts/queries. * A minimum of 3 years related experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing application environments * Industry standard certification a plus. Other Qualifications: * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment * Ability to prioritize, organize work and work on multiple projects/applications simultaneously. * Ability to work a flexible schedule providing off-hours support. Employee will be scheduled for rotating on-call off-hours support.
